A beautiful tribute to Jan who is indeed missed on this site. Life is so precious and so brief. You have allowed Jan to join again today with her Fanstory family through remembering her. Excellent. ann

Oooh, thank you so much Anne. I am overwhelmed by all the people who say how much they miss Jan. I used to jokingly accuse her of living in my portfolio, because I would barely post something and all of a sudden I'd have a text saying, Deb, you don't need that comma in the third line, or she would drop a song code for me because she thought it would work. I loved it.

She is certainly missed for sure. So thanks so much Ann for not only the lovely review, comments and lovely stars for Jan, but thanks so much for another reassured note that when we leave we are missed when we made a positive difference. And that she did.

Thanks for remembering Jan, Debi. She would really appreciate the artwork and poem. A very nice presentation, as well, plus the heartfelt notes. A lovely tribute remembering Jan.Effective imagery and rhyme.

It is not easy reviewing these poems because the feelings go so deep. I think Jan would be smiling and saying she was glad you remembered her and shared this poem with us. She would like the astronomy reference, as well as her cat Abby, both "swinging on a star." A lovely way to remember her. Thanks for sharing it.

You are very welcome, Debi, and Jan was an integral part of our writing community. She worked hard to share new ideas and also to improve her writing. She will always be missed on the site. It's nice you remembered her. I will probably dedicate a poem to her in the new year.

I wonder what happened to Abbey.
It was sweet of you to remember and write a poem on Jan's birthday. She must be swinging from star to star .Sigh!
Thank you for the song .

How wonderfully beautiful Debi!
That's one special contribution to the connected memory of a good friend.

Whilst I came across Jan on site both in review and replies, I did not get to have the opportunity to get to know her as I would have liked to, and I know I'm poorer because of it.

I read Helen's poem for Jan, now yours, she sounds so enquiring, caring and kind. I loved that she was so into her astronomy... I'm a bit of a star-gazer myself. Not with too much knowledge, more just for the magic beauty of looking up and losing myself within the show.

Beautiful rhyme, composition and presentation... you really allowed me to feel that special connection you shared.

Happy belated Birthday Jan!

With our thoughts we create...
indelible bonds.

Warm regards,
James.

Jan was a loner. She connected to everyone one a helping level as she loved to help others. For two of us, she did love to talk. We talked several times several times a week. And I am not a phone person, but I got used to it. Plus I used to tease her and asked her many times if she lived in my portfolio because whenever I would post,, I would find the code for a fun YouTube video in my email, or edits in my pm box. When she was not answering any of my texts for days, I got worried and wrote if she didn't answer her phone or answer a text, I was going to call the cops. She never answered, and I called the cops in her home town, but Yvonne had also done the same thing and they went in and found her dead.. I cannot believe how much I still miss her, but I am the richer for becoming that close to her. And from her knowledge I have been able to help others because she taught me so many things.
Thanks for letting me share that, James. She was so very share worthy! LOL....Like we both have said many times, life is just too short not to hold onto the good and not look for the bad. And with that I hope your day was full of rewards with family. Mine sure was.

Thanks for the wonderful review and kind comments for Jan's poem.

Thank you for sharing that story with me Debi, I'm so glad to know she at very least had you and Yvonne in her life to some capacity. How sad to have died alone. I send my love to you Yvonne and to our wonderful Jan in the middle of the stars.

Had to six this all day long as it is so true.

I had a lot of Jan experience from the start. I liked her haunted contests a lot! Also her veteran pieces were so sweet.

What really got me was her encouragement to try something new. As any of you real poets know I am no poet, but I really wanted to try an Alliteration contest as it looked like so much fun. She encouraged me and guided me and I won it! My first Alliteration I had EVER written. I don't have her messages anymore but this is what I wrote in my winning comments:

Douglas Goff: A special thanks to Jannypan for encouraging me to try this format for the first time! I appreciate the votes and thank you for the unexpected win FS authors! - a year ago

Her kindness is missed! Thank you for writing this piece, Debi.

What a perfect day to pay tribute to Jan. She was special. Always a kind word, nothing derogatory. She was a warrior princess for the veterans, no one can dispute that!

She is sorely missed in so many ways.
Here's looking at you kid!

Hi John, once again, too many in a row and not enough time to stop and thank reviewers so I sometimes do recent ones first, but I do get around to them all. What I am trying to say is thank you from the bottom of my heart feeling how some of us here did about Jan. The problem was, Jan always felt like nobody liked her. I tried to tell her different, and of course she knew I did. In fact it was because she talked so much everyday, I knew something was wrong when she didn't text or call me back, so finally I said, Jan if you don't call me right now I am calling the cops. I waited a half hour and I got on the phone with the local police there and reported that I felt something was terribly wrong and here she was dead in the apartment. It was devastating, sp hearing all these kind words again for her made me wonder. I know she could write some wild stories at grandma and grandpas house w the crocodiles and everything, but I think they were mostly stories.

So thanks again for the very kind comments and for the lovely stars. So I think we will dedicated them to her and let her put them in her jar with the moonbeams. LOL.....
