TIme certainly does seem to stand still when the heart is grieving. I don't really understand the next to last sentence, first part - "What is the prepares". Nevertheless, you have written a sadly beautiful about life after the death of a beloved spouse. Blessings, Linda

That last line was powerful when not expecting to read this. What an impact. A sad poem but many can relate to it. I know I can. Awesome work, gw.

You have just written the last three years of my mothers life. Only it was 64 years married. The clock did indeed stop on the date my father died, my mother died mentally, found no purpose left in her life, she finally died almost 3 years to the day. The clock did stop, it waited for my mother to be with her husband. My mum and dad together. I thought your poem was like a message to me, you are the only one I have known who understands that what happens when one has lost their other half, or someone very close. xsx sandra

The picture is perfect for it does portrait walking through space; as if time stands still. Your words are powerful, the pain is evident asking why should you continue to live. I would like to send my condolences for loss of your wife. Since there was no Author notes I am assuming this poem is relevant to your life. God Bless Terrie

Hi Gary,
This is awesome artwork paired with your great poem of a long life together.
My dad hung on, but passed a few days after my folks celebrated their '50th'.
Cheers & Blessings

I feel the true core of this story is the loss of the wife after sixty years. Start with that. Is the widower trying to find solace in clocks? No? Make that clearer. Otherwise, good job.
