you and your poem have made me absolutely fall in love with Jim and Molly
such endearing endearing "alive on the page" characters
even though they were separated it did not made your poem sad, it still had bounce and energy
it is very precious that you made me hear the pots and pans rattle again in the last two lines
have a smiley day

I enjoyed the flow and rhyme. A mule tale without a mule tail. It's great when a sad story has a happy ending. No edits or adjustments suggested.

Those little mules were hardworking creatures and loyal friends. And you have captured the bond that the miner and his mule shared beautifully in your piece. It flowed smoothly and naturally. And it touched the reader's heart.

This is a good story for the contest. It is well written and rhymes well, Plus the story is interesting. I like that it starts out sad at first but ends nicely and kind of humorously.

Sadly sweet and in excellent rhythm and rhyme. Vivid imagery--I can indeed hear those pots and pans a'bangin'. Touching closing verse. Well done. Cheers. LIZ

Well, I enjoyed the techniques you used to write this contest entry. Not so much that Molly died then later Jim. You did a good job with your rhyming couplets. I like the cowboy lingo. There is good flow and a good story. You characterize Ol' Jim well and his faithful mule Molly, too. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

Gee, that's well told. I love the character Ol' Jim. I would think every old western town had an Ol' Jim, and probably a Molly too. I wonder if any of them ever found their pot of gold.
Loved this poem

This is a very nice and well written poem you have penned for the Share a Story in a Poem contest about Molly the Mule. You used very good descriptive words and it made me kind of sad about the poor mule. Best wishes in the contest. Blessings, Teri

I love this story poem! It is simple, easy to read and understand, and full of emotion. The photo perfectly accentuates the story. This is the first western poem I have ever read. Wonderful! Hope you win the contest.
