Loved this! Thank you, Ann! And thanks to Terry for sharing these bright moments of having grandchildren! Jess is beautiful! And I remember her telling you about going to Australia and your reaction. I think you and your daughter did a wonderful job of parenting and I look forward to one day having interactions with my grown grandchildren!
Minor nits:
There were several places where you had two periods as in
"a place of calm.. " If you intended an ellipses, you might want to make them three.
who is among my (is one of my) I don't know - just felt like a singular subject with plural nouns to me.

It was fun to write because the memory revived that wonderful relationship feeling Jess and I shared -and still do, but she is an adult now. I appreciate your comments and your suggestions in spag control. Corrections have been made. ann

Thank you for sharing this story with us. It causes tears, because I understand. Although I raised four very head strong boys, I have three very head strong granddaughters, who I love dearly. I have watched these young ladies wrap their daddies around their fingers. Their moms, not so much. LOL Thank you for warming my heart.

That is sort of the way it works with daughters -- dads are usually found in their camps while moms are trying to be the adult in the room. lol. Thanks for reading and commenting. ann
