Yes, I love the sounds of the bluejay and other sounds from miller's pond! I welcomed the nagging bluejay into my home as well. Thanks for the warning I waited long enough to know the neighbors wouldn't mind the soft sweet sounds of your lovely poem based on a visit to miller's pond! Each picture represented the animals you mention and accentuated the thrill of seeing what you see when you go there once or twice a week to rejuvenate your soul. I am happy that you have a place to go to when you need a lift, I have the nature trails where I live nearby to go to when I need a redemption of my spirit, and it is very close to where I live.
Thanks for sharing your secret world of wonder!

Good morning, Jesse!
I was hoping you'd stop by, and I am glad you waited for your neighbors to greet their day before reading my offering.
No walking anywhere today: we are in the midst of northern Michigan's "third winter." "Third winter comes after "Spring's fake first start." Gotta love Michiganders' humor...
Thank you again!
And here's to a beautiful new week... and no more snow and ice!

Michigan's third winter! Out here by the coast of California, we are in the midst of a streak of summer! Warm days and nights and no rain until further notice.
We need the rain so much yet we are enjoying the sunshine and warmth.
In the middle of the drought, it poses a conundrum of sorts.
Have a happy Sunday!
Jesse

I thoroughly enjoyed this walk through your neck of the woods! That curmudgeonly feathered friend of yours is quite a character. Adds to the ambience. I can see how these visits to the pond would be rejuvenating. Thank you for sharing!

Good morning, June!
I am always so pleased when you pay me a visit; I've not been around much this month as "life" has gotten in the way... Lots of trips to "Miller's Pond."
Thank you!

The first thing that I thought when I woke was that Diane has a new poem. You always inspire me with your intelligent but heartfelt style. Are you writing about me in this one? A huge part of me wants to stay behind closed doors protected from change. I have lost the need to wonder because exploring takes me out. Unlike me, you are a rock, ready to take on life. You get your strength from the land. I have actually come to the beach for the weekend looking for sunshine and the rejuvenation of the waves. But I suppose I am not ready. It's cold and windy. I prefer to stay in with my books and coins. All I really want these days is the company of my grandchildren. Nothing else seems to matter much.
But you do inspire. Perhaps I will go back out today.
This is a wonderful poem. How do you do it? And it was nice to enjoy the blue jay with my morning coffee. I woke up with to bird song and poetry. You can't beat that.

Good morning, dear Debbie!
I am incredibly honored and humbled by your exceptional rating and thoughtful review.
I did think I was writing of both of us as I re-read this offering countless times.
I was moved by your statement that "You get your strength from the land." How very true. It has taught me well... And I do need its strength, especially now...
Thank you again, Debbie!
Sending warm and positive thoughts your way!

I think that my alone time is giving me peace. At the same time, it is sapping my strength.

Must not let that happen, Debbie!
To the beach you go!
I'll be there around 1:00pm... picnic in tow! Get ready! :) :) :)

This is a vivid and simple free form verse: Sound Embedded, speaks about your outing in a forest environment, how you enjoyed the moments there is expressed sound; this has a good work in honour of the denizens of Miller's Pond and their healing camaraderie; well said, well done; post more. As I was reading this beautiful ode to nature and all that is a part of it, I couldn't help but wonder where my Miller's Pond is. So very well written, and I totally relate to sometimes just wanting to hide inside. But nature can always draw us out, can't it?
Loved the multiple pictures that helped to tell your story.

This is a place I could love. Thank you for the post. It sings. That ol jay sounds like he runs the place but I think he knows who holds the corn!
Blessings,
John

What a tantalizingly refreshing spring breeze of a poem. I very much enjoy these same settings.
Reading your words made me feel as if I was there, nose turned into that fresh breeze gazing at those cattails. Vivid imagery.
Loved this

This is a beautiful post. The sounds of the blue jays singing their song or talking. This would be living in a peaceful environment. I like the pictures.
You have a great tribute to nature.
