A Christmas Story
by sandramitchell
I always liked the nativity and story of Jesus birth. You brought good memories. The rhymes do not seem forced. Your poem flows well. It draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

Little children are so receptive to animals, I think they can relate to them more. (not that mice are everyone's favourites, lol.) I'm glad you enjoyed reading it. And an extra hug and love for the 'young Sandra' bit!!!! Loved that! Bless you, my dear friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Charming and fun. A well-done and beautiful children's poem.
I have one critique on the following line, when I read it out loud it seemed awkward and interrupts the flow.
He pulled up a chair and sat down beside
his sons, who were now wearing grins a mile wide.
Get rid of down? Now wearing grins a mile wide?

I did like your Timmy and Tommy Mouse Christmas poem Sandra. I loved the way you've written this from the animals POV and the excitement and joy of the occasion comes through beautifully with your words. Good luck in the contest.

I apologize for the six stars. If it were possible, I would give this poem/story a 7-star review! It is adorable with the little kids hearing a story from Daddy Mouse. It also tells the story of Jesus' birth minutes before he was born. This would make such a wonderful Children's book to be sold in the stores. Good luck with the contest!

Apologise? Your words are 10 star to me, Patty!! Thank you so very much, my friend! I'm made up with your review and the six stars. If I could just get it illustrated, I'd try to get it published. But, the fact you think it would make a good book means a lot. Thank you. Warm hugs, my friend. :))) Sandra xxx

Sandra, it's great to read another masterpiece from your talented pen--skillfully written with good rhyming, a smoothly flowing plot, and an important message for all--working toward a common goal is rewarding.

Adorable! Charming critters make perfect company for this whimsical rendition of the Christmas miracle. Clever bit about the wool and the hay. Thanks to the mice for not contributing to the pile.
