This wins hands-down for gruesomeness--jars of mutilated lips tops it all. Chilling character, stunningly rendered--you've masterfully conjured the most monstrous of all psychopathic killers--at least, in fiction. Ted Bundy is a tie! Gripping game of cat-and-mouse--excruciating! I don't get how banging her forehead into his nose necessarily disables him--she must have know he'd attempt to kill her and could easily have got the upper hand--after all, he's a master.

Thank you, Liz. Believe it or not, I cut this down at least by 1/2. I have another 4,000 words on the cutting room floor, so to speak. It would have developed his motivation for being on her show to begin with. But no one would read 7K words

This story is quite unusual. Most of the time there are not two villains vying against each other.
The pace is good. The characters are well developed. The dialogue is believable. The story stays on point. And to top it off there is a wonderful twist at the end.
