This flows very well and has a great meter and rhythm and rhymes to it. It's fun, even a bit mystical with Molly the mule. It shows love and appreciation for such an animal. It's humble to read and reflect on. It's compassionate and witty. Good job.

Wow, what a sad outcome for Jim and Molly. This was a great entry into the Share a Story in a poem contest. Your poem rhymed made sense, entertained, and touched the reader emotionally. Good luck in the contes, you have my vote.

I loved this story! The fact that you put it in cowboy language made it that
more interesting. Poor Molly and poor Jim. Your image of Molly is perfect.

Hello Willie. The writing reminds me of an old ballad. I like the cadence of the writing and I found the story very touching. Very well written. Good luck in the contest.

Good Mornin' Willie!
Oh my goodness! I enjoyed your story in a poem! Reminds me of the type of poems my late father loved to read aloud to me when I was growing up.
I appreciate the employment of "cowboy language." If I may suggest, I am wondering if the last line might read, "Pretty sure or Purty sure...he found..." just to go along with the "Waitin fer" and "ever' kinda" in preceding stanzas.
Thank you for sharing!

What a poetic treat - to take our thoughts away from more pressing worldly matters - perhaps life will return to such simplicity again sooner than we think !

Such a sad, but lovely story in a poem. I could just see them together looking for gold. It was a sad end for poor Molly, and Jim didn't live much longer without his girl beside him. We can all hope people and there loved animals will be reunited one day. Well done, and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Had to do it, a six deserved for the story line, the language or cowboy draw, as they say, the rhyming and the flow. Excellently done and I thoroughly enjoyed it

-Nice image and
presentation, Willie.
-Good to see you and
hope you are doing well.
-This is a very good poem
that also tells a good story.
-The meter, imagery, and rhyme
create a smooth flow.
-We can tell from reading it
that Ol' Jim really loves his
mule, and missed her a lot,
but now they are together again.
-Well done!
