That's sooooo funny about the five guys in a warehouse. I can dig that, yeah. Hahaha. My plan is to ignore them and get back to writing. What do I care what they think? It's when they involve my friends that I get a little stirred up. Ha! Well, blathering comes so easy to me, so this was a natural, yes? Thanks for the input. As long as enough of us are okay, we'll be allright. And by the way, WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO, love you, mike

lol......right...it's funny ...now. ...but you should of felt the look on Ingrid's face way back then.....lol ahhaha

I always miss out on the best gossip. Sorry to hear things like this are going on. I'm interested in reading your essay on potatoes. Do you have new ideas on carving them to make great print patterns? I wrote a free verse poem and you totally missed it. Anything I can do to help? You'd let me know if I did something bad, I hope?

It's all a bunch of nonsense. But it's irritating that so much nothingness means so much to everybody. Potato prints, yeah, I remember that from somewhere, school, yes?
I promise I'll get to your free verse, I saw it in my inbox. I'm all done saving the world now. mike

Good Evening, Michael,
I enjoyed reading your commentary narrative regarding the Site's undercurrent. If indeed it is true people are talking about other members in a derogatory manner on other sites, then that's just plain sad. Merle (OriginalOctomom) taught me to not get caught with the stars, not become star-struck, and to focus on reading and reviewing the best writers and creating a writing relationship with them. In other words, fan and be fanned, read and be read, learn and teach, etc. It was the best advice ever. I think we have a star-struck epidemic going on and that is hurting the good reviewers and perhaps discouraging them to write what they feel needs to be said. Note I reference good reviewers, not the ones who give low marks with no constructive criticism or because they don't know the meanings of words and are unable to effectively use a dictionary.
Your ending advice is sound. Focus on writing. Focus on getting better at writing. Focus on the friendships that are true and real--and many such opportunities exist on this Site for that to occur.
I could get all wound-up and keep on with this, but please let me end by saying I enjoyed reading your commentary. While reading, I did find several SPAGS and have noted them below.
While reading through your piece, I found several SPAG concerns. Most were needed commas while a couple were singular/plural conflicts. May I offer some suggestions for you to consider?
A system of rewards and rankings served as an organizing tool and an incentive program to encourage reviews and reward quality pieces[,] as well good old fashioned hard work and effort.
Member dollars were earned by reviewing[,] and rankings were a source of pride and prestige.
When that happens[,] things take a turn.
Joe and Sandy take pride in their position[s].
The position[positions they hold] becomes their identity [respective identities] and[,] they become secondary to it.
Well, it is little in the grand scheme of things[,] and there is great irony in that.
Yes, there are those who [for whom] I'd board a plane to help if they needed it[.] were I in a position to, in a heartbeat [I'd go in a heartbeat if I were in a position to do so].
I wonder who she's doin[g]?
I know a lot of ranked people[,] and I've even been one.
Of course[,] it is the mentality here to jump
potato sales in the Antelope Valley[,] or was poverty the real impetus?
Please let me know if you make edits and/or have questions about my suggestions. I'll be glad to return and review again.

Wow. Thanks a million, Ray. I tend to forget all about editing when I write one of these. That's quite a list and I'm a bit red-faced I must say. I went in right away and fixed those and it almost looks like I can write now. HAHAHA!
We're completely on the same page as far as our approach to this place. And I think most people are, my friend. It just gets out of hand sometimes and while it doesn't bother me, I can't stand seeing my friends bothered by such nonsense. Wonderful input and a great rescue where sorely needed. Thanks again. mikey

This sounds like "Those Girls" we all hated in High School.
You know the ones. LOL All I can say is, Now children, play nice, this too shall pass. Glad I'm not in that circle. You explained it pretty good Mikey. Competition always brews some trouble. Don't let such foolishness spoil you desire to write.

My next post will be about the rise of imperialism in post-modern Lancaster, California. Did the influx of the Irish truly influence potato sales in the Antelope Valley or was poverty the real impetus? Fascinating stuff, folks.
LOLOL... please do.
I don't think anyone has said it better.
And i'm about to shut down my email box. i'm sick and tired of getting emails saying, hey, look at this, or look at that.
NO. I don't want to. I just asked a friend to go to Gloria's post to be there for her in need. yeah, it was Linda (l.raven) because I know she's awesome. And I asked Gynt to go and support her. Because, dammit, she sounded like she needed it. and I went to you inbox to ask you if she was ok... because I happen to care about her. And I DO.
But hey... I'm going back to my inbox.
And i know how it feels. :(
But I hate drama.
I do.
and I was warned. lol
Back to the writing.
yeah, potatoes, you say? ok. why the fuck not?
Thanks Mikey, for saying what's on all our minds. I'm off to read your broken wings. I've been singing that song all day. ;)
Hugs

Well, you know I like to blather. Ms. Gloria I can assure you is more than capable of handling herself especially with this little place. Hahaha! I'm Irish and I take potatoes seriously. They use them to make vodka you know.
In any case, everyone should get back to writing and reading and stop worrying about the rest of it. I have no idea why other people's lives are of such great interest to everybody. I'm not even all that interested in my own family!!!!! Great song. At least I added that to the day. mikey

The best advice I see here, Mikey, is to just ignore it. Since, as my dear wife is so apt to point out, I never notice anything, that's incredibly easy for me! I hope it is for others, too. So far, I've only seen the good side. Perhaps that's because I'm looking in the right direction, or maybe I've just got blinkers on.
