Very nice rhyming poem. Choice of words was truly good. Good form and good content. Great message also. This just just a good poem that all should read!

The initial photo & first verse really hooked me: I so liked everything about this work, most especially the message running through the words/verses. I am a runner (albeit a much slower one at my current age) but I teach youngsters what you have expressed in this work: once "THAT" lesson takes hold, our entire running experience becomes better.

this is a fabulous piece of poetic art with an inner rhythm and rhyme!
"In the end, it's not whether you've won that truly matters, but how you ran the race that counts." this could be a metaphor for nearly everything:)
thank you for sharing!

That is very true. It really is more important how we've run our race than whether we have won or lost it. We will, and should be, remembered for what we did during our lives.

Wow! This should be a mandatory read for athletes. Of course, its instructions could apply to us all. Your lines also flow so very poetically. --Elaine

This poem is very beautifully written and with such a thought provoking message. I get the message and it should be used; but somehow I still feel that this great message came about just to make the loser's (mostly children) not feel so bad about not winning.

I know your notes express the nice idea, Dean though I'm not sure everyone would agree.
Thank goodness my 'running' days are over, so I don't have to worry about whether I've done it properly or not. :-)
Seriously, terrific positive sentiments expressed in your poem.
Anyway, I'm off to race my pet tortoise, and if he beats me one more time, I'll cut down his lettuce ration. :-)
Cheers, Ray.

Hah, yeah, I would too, Rayman! Thanks for the wonderful, entertaining review. I appreciate that.

LOL, Dean.
On the other hand, maybe I'll just feed Tommy Tortoise on 'junk food', like McDonalds, takeaway curries, fish n chips (yum yum), and loads of beer.
That should slow him down a bit - especially if I restrict my OWN diet to 'lettuce leaves'. LOL
Oh, hang on - I just spotted a flock of low-flying pigs overhead. ;-)
Cheers, Ray xx

Hi Dean Kuch,
I rather like the way you have put the principle issue here - winning is not everything, it is about how you do so. Unfortunately I think far to many have lost sight of this today, and see winning as the only value.
