I think the story was wonderful. You let me see both sides of Sam and I think I really saw him as a super hero. I felt like this was based on a true story in parts and maybe you embellished it with some fiction. So that should tell you how convincing you and your characters were. nice imagery and the pacing was great. I rally enjoyed it. I like the author notes and I say bring it on.

Thanks, GWHARGIS, and I am very pleased to hear that you liked the story. Actually, Sam (Samantha) is a woman, masquerading as a man by day, but showing her evil, vindictive vigilante side by nightfall. I was really hoping that little "twist" in the plot wouldn't go unnoticed. Perhaps I will have to do some rewrites to make it more evident.
Anyhow, you liked the story, and it entertained you. That's the important thing.

Wow!!! It's obvious you put a lotI like the rhythm of your well constructed work. You held my attention all the way through. Nice fantasy art work to adorn your story. Don of thought, time and effort into this work.

I don't know about the rapex device. It sounds like an idea whose time has come, but there are also man-haters who would turn this weapon on the innocent (or boyfriends) . The story was a well written way to introduce the idea to us.

Thanks for taking the time to weigh in on this one for me, Alan. I really appreciate that.
As far as the rapex device goes, I believe that you're right. Many believe that it may be used by some women to get even with an ex-husband or boyfriend. Or, just by a crazy woman who hates all men. It is a valid concern...

Holy crap Dean - you scared me half to death - horrific and skilfully penned - and never did I think I'd use those two words in the same line. I'm gob smacked and deciding to run or stick around - so I stuck around and you upped the anti on this one - I suppose any deterrent is a plus - but for the fist time as the ouch turned to yikes....I was sure glad I didn't have a penis.
Fabulous writing dark and creepy, horror and hellish all rolled into one amazing work.
Thanks for sharing it. - wait - thanks for a scary read.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and comment on it for me, Maureen. It's entered in the Fanstory horror story contest, judged by the FS Committee, so I wanted to get it out there to see if anyone thought major revisions were necessary. So far, most of the reviews have been pretty positive.
Thanks again, my friend!

Best of luck my friend - it's one hell of a story expertly penned.
Enjoy your day.

Comics and graphic novels are filled with vigilantes. I can really see her in this vein, a protector of the streets looking out over prostitutes and victims/potential victims of rape. Molly's transformation however to me, in such a short piece, was a bit too much like throwing in the kitchen sink, really to me detracting from the central thrust of the story. And such a disguise, just trailing one potential rapist at a time, would be time consuming and far less effective than simply patrolling the streets. Maybe if it was longer, giving you time for backstory like his wife was raped and murdered, hence the disguise. Everything worked very well until the reveal.

I'm sure this story will be a deterrent in it's self to any would be rapists. I'm all for its being used on the streets to decrease rapes, but for those of us to don't frequent the streets and would never rape, there is still the danger of jilted girlfriends or an angry wife. Thanks for another great story. :-)

dipster as always!..shitting himself
ps will they bring this out for jilted housewives and frustrated women who want to teach thir men a sad and painful lesson about spending too much time at he pub?

Hah, imagine my delight to see that you read this for me, Dipster! I know you rarely read stories, but I'm very happy to see that you gave mine a shot.
As far as the rapex thing goes, well...opinions vary here in the US. Many feel it would be used as a weapon by jilted women to get even with their exes. Who can say, but I'll just bet'cha it would happen eventually. Then there would be lawsuits by the mangled male against the manufacturer...it sure opens lots of cans of worms.
Thanks again, my friend!

I think every woman should have one of these devices. And Sam is doing a public service. If a rapist gets his manhood chewed up a little, it's less pain than he deserves. I'd design these things so that they need to be surgically removed and mandate doctors to report them.

Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts on this, Cindy. I really appreciate it!
They do have to be surgically removed. The barbs curve backward and embed themselves. Unless, of course, a man wants to maim himself permanently or risk bleeding to death...
