I had a bear and I played with it much like Molly did in this poem. Good memories this poem brought back to me of childhood days. Thank you for reminding me of Bear. The poem is excellently written and is going to be one of my best kept favorites. Thank you!

What a fun poem you've written here, kiwisteveh! It's a great time with one's Teddy Bear and imagination in full gear. It's a truly fun story.
Your poem has a wonderful flow, and your rhyming, both perfect and proximate is really well done.
Thank you for sharing. It's no wonder you won first place. Take care. Alana

Steve, This is a cute little prose within a children's poem. (We spring out of bed, my mistress and me,) Did you mean, "misses"? 'Mistress' might not be appropriate for a children's book. Regardless, the work and presentation are outstanding. Carole

Thanks, Carole.
Mistress has several meanings apart from the one you are thinking of, including the mistress of a house or, as here, the female owner of an animal - even though it's a stuffed animal.

Hi from another Kiwi
A delightful poem with excellent rhyming which children will love. I like you idea of putting all your poems in one book. I'm thinking of doing something similar. I have self published several little picture books and have lots waiting to see the light of day.

Thanks, Gaye. I'm not sure why I have never seen your work on FS before.
I am keen to get something to a publisher this year - in fact it was one of my New year resolutions!

Piratical bunch! I will always remember that phrase. So original. The poem flows so nicely, you can almost find yourself singing it. Love it

This is very nicely rhymed with a playful rhythm. it reminded me of my childhood and a typical day for me at around aged 4. I didn't chase pirates but I gave fairies and elves a run for their money. I'm sure all readers will relate to Molly
