What a lovely poem, Debi, and butterflies have always been associated with a loved one's soul visiting. I could imagine God's garden full of beautiful butterflies. I loved this, my friend, my mum and dad are together in Heaven, and as you know, my lovely youngest brother joined them just over two months ago. That we will all meet again one day, is so comforting. Love and hugs, my friend. Sandra xx

Hi Sandra, I read my reviews right away as it is the highlight of my day.
But because it is so hard to go back and forth with thank you responses, it is always easier to respond to the most recent ones. And so often I get behind and this is what happens.
I don't like that feature here. I remember when Jan was here she tried to get that changed so we could better respond in the appropriate order.
However, I do appreciate you just the same as if I had just gotten this review ten minutes or an hour ago.
So thank you so very much for these lovely comments and for your kindness and patience. I do appreciate your dear comments about my mom.
Thanks again, my sweet friend! Love, Debi

Hi Debi,
I like the repetition in this poem. It is a good memory. I think that maybe one of those butterflies that was following you was a spirit of your mother.
I think aprise should be apprise.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a great rest of the weekend.

You're most welcome. As long as I get a review, I don't care how late it is.

This is a lovely tribute to your mother, and a sweet way of remembering her and feeling her presence.
In my family, they use coins. My late uncle used to make his presence known to his widow and three daughters with pennies. Apparently there must be inflation in heaven too because when my father (my uncle's brother-in-law) passed, my sister and I started finding nickels, dimes and quarters. It always made us feel that he was there watching and protecting us.
I love the idea of your mother's spirit accompanying her friends during a golf round in the form of butterflies overhead.
This poem is uplifting and cheerful, and helps to take away a bit of the sting of losing a loved one. That's quite an impressive task for a poem to take on, and this one does it well.

Thanks for the story about your Uncle too, and did you recently lose someone? I am so sorry! Do you mind me asking who you lost?
Thanks again, my sweet friend! Love, Debi

I fully trust you, Debi, so I wasn't worried at all.
To answer your question, I lost my mother in April and my mother-in-law in September. Suffice it to say 2023 was not a great year! Then my sister-in-law lost her mother and daughter an hour apart (in separate incidents) last month. I didn't know either of them, but truly felt for my sister-in-law. As you see, 2024 hasn't started off any too great either. On top of that, my husband was hospitalized with a brain bleed in January. On the way to visit him, my uncle fell and broke his ankle. Then it turned out my husband contracted Covid in the hospital, and my daughter, father-in-law and I all caught it. Only my father-in-law had a severe case, but we're all fine now, and my uncle's recovering.
At the moment, I'm just waiting for this streak of bad luck to end. (Actually, I'm waiting for whoever has voodoo dolls in the shape of my family members to remove those pins they've been putting in!) 😉
I'm well aware, though, that every one of these current issues could have been SO MUCH worse, so I'm also very grateful that they weren't.
-
OMGosh, Michelle, my heart is breaking for all you have been through lately. But I do understand it all too well and my prayers are with you, my dear friend.
-
Thanks, Debi. Our prayers for one another will cross in heaven.
I don't want you to worry about me. With the exception of a mild bout of Covid, the things that have been happening this year have been happening around me more than to me. Not that I'm not affected (I spent days keeping my husband company in the hospital, and I've been joining him on many of his follow-up appointments), but the physical issues haven't actually been happening to me. It's just that too many things were happening around me in succession. (I think I've just set the record for how many times you can say "happening" in one paragraph!)
But, just as you survived all the terrible things that happened in your recent life, I'll survive mine. It's really comforting to know I have someone to commiserate with, though. I hope you realize that you have the same, any time you want or need it.
-
I do and thank you.😘

Any time, my friend.

Debi, This is a very beautiful poem you have written. I love butterflies also. Tom planted two butterfly bushes for me. They make my heart smile when I see them. They are so dainty and don't last long enough for me. Beautiful words and lovely imagery. Thank you for sharing! love and blessings, Teri

What an absolutely beautiful tribute to your mother. Your rhyme and rhythm are well done. Your mother sounds alike a lovely mother and grandmother. I'm so glad you'll see her again in God's butterfly garden!

Verna, I am so very sorry about this being so late. I was sure I had thanked you for this, but now I wonder if I didn't hit next page instead of save replies. You wouldn't believe how often that has happened when I am sure.
Anyway, you give me such a lovely review and I am so late. But thank you so very much for the awesome comments and the lovely six stars. I did and still do appreciate it so much. Thanks again, dear friend. Love, Debi

Debi, my sweet sis.
You may have stumbled onto something beautiful here...
I'm sure you've heard of the Rainbow Bridge where our lovely dogs await us?( I already have five waiting for my butt to get there).
You've created Gods Garden of Butterflies where loved ones wait for us! ----
One night I dreamt that I had passed
Mom welcomed me with sweet aprise
At Heaven's gates, with her at last
In God's garden of Butterflies
(Ahhh... I couldn't find aprise. Did you mean apprise?)
Beautifully written as only you are able!

Hi Debi.
With me you never have to worry or feel bad for late responses.
My in box is jam packed with new material to read. I don?t know how so many writers have the time to post two new pieces daily. It takes me days to write one short story.
I guess if I wasn?t working 47 hours a week I?d have more time on my hands to write and write better. Oh well, I guess that?s the path Gods chosen for me right now.
At least I have a day off today, yea?.
Be well, cheers,
John

A sweet natured post Debi, love the sentiment and lighthearted fluttering of butterflies. I just have a few suggestions for these lines for the sake of metre:
(The birds, rainbows and stars above)
suggest:
(The birds and rainbows, stars above)
(On her shoulder ~ two butterflies)
suggest:
(and on her shoulder - butterflies)
(In God's garden of Butterflies)
suggest
(God's garden full of Butterflies)

Dolly, I always trust you and if you say these will read better, than I will change them. Sometimes I get those who will comment on the grammar, so I won't worry about them right now. I appreciate it so very much.
Thank you my dear friend for the suggestions and the kind review.

What a sweet poem to honor your mother. It sounds like she was a special lady. Now we know where you got it, that sweetness of yours. There are so many different butterflies. I remember when people would catch them and collect them. I never liked that idea. How are you doing with your blood pressure. I hope you're getting it under control. Have a blessed day.

What a sweet poem about butterflies and how they tie into your connection to your mother. My sister feels the same way. She really loves butterflies,
We also tie in Cardinals, and there are a lot of them near where my sister lives.
Thanks for sharing your poem and its connection to your mother. I know I miss mine terribly!!
Much love, my dear,
Rhonda

Hello, my very sweet, Rhonda. Thank you for the lovely review and comments for my butterfly poem honoring my mom. Even tho she has been gone for quite a while, I never want to stop singing my praises to her.
And we do love the cardinals too, for two reasons. One, because when they come to the feeder they are so beautiful to look at and two, because in high school, we were the Annandale Cardinals. LOL.. My mom also taught for Annandale so she loved them for both reasons too.
Thanks for the generous six stars that you sent my way, dear friend. You and they mean the world to me. Love, Debi

What a lovely poem Debi, in praise of God's butterflies, an incredible creature of God are these butterflies, they seem to have been appointed to be a symbol of godly beauty, and yet thay seem so rudderless with their fitting and floating and yet they are a wonderful spectacle, well done, blessings Roy
