Hello Jesse. Thank you for the marvelous review and rating for my poem, Apple Pie Hill. I?m glad you enjoyed the sensory imagery and the rhymes. I've hikes and canoed these trails and rivers for many decades, it is a unique area many are aware of.
Yes, we did feel the quake, though it was short and fortunately did no damage. We had one some years ago that lasted a little longer, but quakes are rare here. There are fault lines all around the country, this one was centered about a hundred mile northwest.

Hello Robert.
Hiking and canoeing the Apple Pie Hill sounds like wonderful fun and excitement.
I still remember the big quake two years ago on December 21st. It traumatized both me and my cat Sunny. Since then, I have kept lanterns nearby, and flashlights, so I can see, when, and if, the power goes out.

The picture is lovely, and I could just see the deer you mentioned in the shrub. Every stanza you've written here gives us a fabulous insight to another incredible scene, the rivers, the faunae of this particular area, it all sound fabulous. I've hiked these trails and canoed on the rivers for many decades. I also love to explore old ruins, like Harrisville and several others I didn't mention. There're like little time machines.
