Like it, I smacked the arm of my chair when I realized what the Judge was walking into. This was great. Dark, yet not too morbid. Violent but only enough for this reader to cheer for Judge's demise. You really don't post often. But you should. Gretchen

Thank you so much, Gretchen, for your extra special six-star review and kind words. I don't write a lot because I'd rather read those of you who I enjoy regularly. But it's always nice when my favorite writers say such nice things. I appreciate YOU!

Ric, your story was well thought out and designed to provide a nice twist at the end. The judge and many others like him, should all have the same fate. I liked how you stated that Sienna had a friend picking her up and how that friend happened to be the Judge's killer.

Thank you so much, Thesis, for your generous review and kind words. It's always a pleasure for those of you whom I enjoy reading regularly to like some of my foolishness. I'm with you in that it's always nice to see the bad guys get what they have coming to them. Much appreciated!
Comment from Heather Knight
It doesn't matter if if it's long, Ric. It's very well rounded. I also love your rich vocabulary. To be frank it's the first time I read or hear the word cicatrix (almost identical to the Spanish cicatriz).
The ending is quite humorous. I wanted Sienna to be happy, but I didn't expect her to end up in a relationship with her husband's killer.
As for the judge, he had it coming.
Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you so much, Heather, for your extra special six-star review and kind words. This story is a little outside my comfort zone but to be able to help Sienna get even with the judge made it all worthwhile. LOL. I can't thank you enough for your generous review. I'm glad you like it. I appreciate YOU! Your writing and your review!

Our characters become alive for us, don't they? Have a nice day.
-
Yes, my dear, we call it fiction, but honestly, I think we pick up our characters from everyone we come in contact with. Newspapers, television, movies, and sadly, real life. Wishing you the best, today and always!
-
That's true. It was the first thing I thought when I started reading your story: how many women out there have partners or family members who beat them or worse?
-
Sadly, even one is too many, but I think we would me amazed at the numbers.
-
Yep. Here in Spain we hear stories of domestic violence, murders by spouses or ex partners quite often nowadays.

I like it very much. So much damage to one human's life by others. It certainly seems as though some people attract misery, but the poetic justice was admirable. kay

Thank you so much, Kay, for your extra special six-star review and kind words. It makes it happy when someone like you whom I read regularly and enjoy, likes my scratchings. I appreciate YOU!
-
I always read and like your offerings (much higher rating than scratchings). You could post much more often and I'd be happier. k
-
Thank you so much, Kay. I enjoy your writing and would enjoy reading much more too. I'm just lazy and don't write much. Hope all is well in your world! :-)
-
As you know my world's not tops at the moment. To add insult to injury, the car gave up the ghost this weekend... very problematic. kay
-
I know you've had a rough time of it for a while now. It's a darn shame when things go wrong they just sort of keep piling up. And now the car. I hope better days are coming soon!!! Ric
Comment from Wayne Fowler
Very well done.
First - in a moribund stupor. - Wow! How'd you come up with that one?
So Sienna knew her contracted murderer, and happened to like him. Good for her.
Best to ya.

Great story where the bad guy gets his comeuppance. Good thing he went in the dark room without turning on the lights or he might have escaped his fate. It's good when Good triumphs over Bad.

LOL, sometimes justice is served cold with a grasp of irony. Very well done. I think it takes a writer of great talent, a good nose, and taste buds to discern and explain the complexities of good bourbon.
But you got to watch out for those big words like Duchenne. Down here in Texas, we would just say "He has a s***-eating grin." Ric, Excellent work. Terry.

Thank you so much, Terry, for your extra special six-star review and kind words. We have more in common than you might imagine, no not you, more than most would Imagine. By now you know I'm more of a s_ _ _-eating-grin kind of guy too. And the only reason I know all the nuances of good bourbon is: because it runs through my body like most people have blood or water.

Thank you so much, Karen, for your generous review and kind words. Why did you have to keep writing the review over and over? Surely, you aren't drunk and disorderly so early on Sunday? LOL. I know you don't act like that. Much appreciated!
-
As soon as I pressed send it would say it was a bad page and everything would reset.
So, I finally went in through your profile and reviewed it there. More than one way to skin a cat. Have you read"Murphy's law " and "petted" f you haven't, please do so they are both funny and short!!haha Karen
-
I don't know why that would have done that. I hope it isn't happening to others, because most people wouldn't have put forth the effort you did. Oh, and thank you. I've been out of town so I'm way behind on reviewing, but promise, I haven't forgotten you and I'll get caught up in a few days. :-)
-
i missed you. But take a look at your side panel and see if your contest ribbons are missing from your accomplishments list. all 3 of mine are still. boohoo Karen

Be sure and let Tom know if they don't show up in a day or two. There seem to be some problems with the site, but I'm sure he will get it all worked out. Things just happen.

Hi there Ric. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your story. And so glad that the man butchered the mean old bastard and got away with it. I found no mistakes and thought it was a really thrilling read. Have a great evening. Jen. X

Wel, well, well.
It is way past time for you to post something new, young man.
Even better, the tale is right up my alley.
An abusive judge who meets his demise at the hands of his wife's lover.
Clever notion.
Next time, do not take so long posting if you please.

Thank you so much, Brett, for your extra special six-star review and kind words. I'm never satisfied until I've read your review and comments. I mean, you know where I started, as well as anyone, and where I've come to now, or hope to have. LOL. I appreciate YOU! I'm hoping to hear some good news from you soon!!!
-
The news not so good. Four new tumors in left arm and insurance balking at paying for more chemo. Will keep you updated. Hope all well in your world.
-
Oh, Brett, something needs to be done about those damn insurance companies who think they have the right or expertise to treat patients. They aren't doctors!!! I know you have to be worn out with all this, and I'm sorry. But keep fighting with all you have my friend. Miracles do happen! I don't know how much listening the good Lord does to an old sinner like me, but you're in my prayers every day. I always appreciate the updates and one of these days I'm waiting to learn the tumors are gone and have stopped reoccurring.
-
Yes, truly wish they would stop. Been 24 tumors now. Will keep you updated.
-
Thanks, Brett, I'll be anxiously waiting for some good new from you. I thought I had it bad with 11, but you've certainly surpassed my battle with an all out war. Hope this time will be the one to put an end to the tumors.
