Oh my gosh, G, I love it. Sarcasm is often my teaching style at school and, so, I really connect with this post!
But, and more importantly, I connect with the wise advice inherent in your passage. In a nutshell, you impart the secrets of success for a writer. Many of the things you often corrected me on appear here. I get it now, and especially the part about the weather. I do, often, overplay that card.
Thank you, so very much, for a really important lesson. I will ever keep it close by when writing, and I mean that sincerely, no sarcasm.
Take care,
Rhonda

It's about not over-playing it and getting the right balance. That's the key. Many thanks

You're a nutter, Gareth!!! Lol, that was hilarious. I do suffer with my sleep pattern, and could do with a book like that! This is a great way to get people to do the opposite, (I do hope they all realise this is the exact opposite to what they should be doing. I loved this, it was so funny. Well done! Lol. :)) Sandra xx

And yet some of the noted great wrote books that still are read today are as described. How they survived is anyone's guess, for instance Shalespeare and his sonnets, for me, are boring. His plays were great.
Dylan Thomas is another, I cannot get through. His pieces are palatable when audioized (sic) but to read them ... UGH>

I was going to give this a Six but fell asleep halfway through!
Your clever exposition of what (not) to do is actually a decent guide for those who want to create a half-decent story an the several pieces of contradictory advice possibly suggest that writing a real page-turner is not quite as straightforward as some would think.

Many thanks for checking this out, Steve.
I think to write something compelling is a fine balancing act. You can't show everything, you need colour, and exposition but it's striking the right notes and knowing when to dive in and when to pull back... It's why my novel is taking so long! lol
All the best

... and why I will never attempt a novel!

Hilarious, inventive and very relatable! Some story writers really forget that they need their reader to be engaged and just waffle on in long-winded, self-indulgent and self-serving fashion (sorry if you fella sleep during that last sentence!) You have researched this sleep guide in impressive detail and there is nothing I could add or detract. Just one small edit - para starting Repetition is key... to show how (they) feel. Excellent write with magic image! And not even a contest entry? Thanks, Debbie
