This is a beautiful birthday poem for a beautiful lady. I always enjoy reading the birthday poems she writes, as well as her expository writing. I'm glad you dedicated a birthday poem to her as she is a caring friend to everyone she meets.

Hi Lorraine, she is definitely that. I love that I got a little leeway with the time. I can't imagine not knowing, but you know Helen. She makes light of it and never complains. Thank you so much for your kind words for the poem and of course for Helen. I know she too will appreciate them.

Oh Helen, I doubt I could ever do you the justice you deserve. I hope you will read all the beautiful reviews written for you. I keep editing it a little here and there. I do that for a couple days after I post all my poetry, as that is where I find things that don't feel quite right. I know that you would be happy no matter what tho. Thank you for your lovely comments and please know that I meant every word.
-
I'm impressed with your devotion to edit! I usually am running to do my next post. Lol. Hugs!

There is one line bothering me and it's the one about your mom. How can I word that to tell a better detail of her becoming a Dr.

Thanks so much Teri, and altho you probably know this lovely woman even better, and for sure longer, there are things you could tell me. I appreciate such kind words for the poem, but especially for Helen. This will mean the world to her when she reads your review. You both so fall in the same Angelic category in my book. Thank you again my lovely friend.

I don't believe I know Helen. I can tell she's one person I should search out and read her material. From your birthday tribute, I can tell she's a wonderful person. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Hi Barb. After reading your review, I went and edited in my poem. I apologize and didn't think of this until now when I read yours. Helen is Lyenochka. Thank you for bringing that to my attention without knowing you were doing it. Lol. I sure appreciate the very kind review for her. Thanks again my friend.
-
I am a fan of Lyenochka and love her work. I didn't know her given name. DUHHHHH
-
I am so thankful for that duh moment because now I put it in parenthesis next to her name. Thanks again my sweet friend!
-
Glad I could unknowingly help.

this would make a good entry for the following contest due October 15 Consequence Magazine: Consequences of war and geopolitical violence; translation feature on Korea Details here. Pay: $40-80 for fiction, nonfiction, and poetry; $20-40 for reviews free author publish
This magazine addresses work on the human consequences and realities of war and geopolitical violence. They have a special translation feature on Korea: "This project aims to highlight the ongoing experiences of North and South Koreans as their countries remain inexorably entwined in war. We are looking for translated prose, poetry, and graphic/visual arts that engage with these experiences. Original works may be in any language other than English but should address issues resulting from (or directly related to) what we in the US call the Korean War (a.k.a. the 625 War, a.k.a The Fatherland Liberation War)." They are also open for fiction, nonfiction (interviews, reviews, essays, narrative nonfiction), poetry, translations, and art (including graphic narratives, and photo and video essays) on the general issues that pertain to the magazine's themes.

Hi Debi. This is a wonderful tribute to Helen.
Your spacing was easy to read so I didn't mind it at all. I haven't talked to you yet I have been busy with my kitty and friends. But I hope you are doing well. I am still in a wheelchair most of the time but am making progress every day.
Happy birthday, Helen!

Hi Jesse! I heard you were back and I was so relieved that you were ok.
I had written some letter saying to you about the Pom
I also heard you are getting up a little more. I've yet to do pressure in my daily therapy, but they wonder if one of the wires broke loose in my legs. I have soot today w my surgeon, then we will know more. Thankful they all come to the house. Not the surgeon, but the therapists.
-
I am so sorry about the difficulty with your legs! I am also sorry that I haven't gotten back to you before this. I am also glad my physical therapists come out to my house.
Take good care of yourself,
Jesse
-
Jesse, I was pretty tired in the middle of the night when writing to you and my fingers must have been on the wrong keys as some does not make sense. Anyway, the day of your surgery I already had a poem written for you and I promoted it to the max, and got many comments for you, so I think you would like to read the poem and the lovely well wishes from people. It isn't that far into my portfolio if you want to check them out. But make sure you also read the comments. Glad to have you back and I am thankful that you are healing and working hard with therapy. It is hard, but will be worth it!!!!
-
I checked your poem out and it was very nice. Thank you for your kindness and current interest in my progress.
Have a wonderful evening.
Jesse

I am glad you liked it, Jesse. And I am certainly happy that you are doing as well as you are. Mine is so extremely painful, but there is hardware and wiring going from my hips to my feet and new knees too. I am happy to have both mine done now and I am sure you feel the same way. I have not yet been able to put any weight on them yet, but I know it will happen. So I have been praying for you and I just know it's a matter of time for both of us. Take care my dear friend.
-
I wish both of us the best!
-
Me too!

Hi Chrissy, and thank you for your kind words for her as well as my poem. Helen is actually, in a half decade birthday. I know she is not shy about telling that she is only 65 years young. Maybe you could include her in there as a midway birthday. However that is up to you. There are quite a few of us in October, but a few months ago, I found a friend that I had been chatting thru her reviews, we figured out that we were born on the exact same day. That had never happened to me before. Thanks again Chrissy for such nice comments.

Finally! A birthday poem for the birthday poem writer!!
A nice tribute for this kind soul who is always putting others first. And it's also nice to learn a little more about her.
Thanks, Debi:-)

Thank you Pam, for such lovely words for Helen and her birthday poem.
You are so very kind and I know she will appreciate it as much as I do!
And we are only a week from today. I don't even mind turning a yr older as I have my twin birthday bud sister to do it with! You'll have to let me know the rest of the details before the day.
-
I'm not sure what details you're looking for? By the way, please don't write a birthday poem for me. I'm not doing anything - I figure Helen is doing that for both of us and I'm just not good at that kind of thing. I will pay tribute to my birthday bud by commenting on Helen's post.
My husband will buy lottery tickets this weekend - $20 as you suggested. My plan for the day right now is pedicure, massage, and dinner out with the hubs. Maybe some reading and a long nap in the afternoon. A perfect day.
How about you?
-
I agree about the poem. I know that Helen will and I know that Sally will write one for me. And I just love that we will be together in one. And what am I doing that day? Opening lottery tickets with you. My husband would have me doing massages every day if he could. He is always buying me certificates and pushes me to do it. But the time it is so hard to get out so, I am looking for someone who will come into my house and do massages. It feels so good on the backs of my legs, but need to get permission from my surgeon today at my appointment. The pain is so horrible in them, but don't need anyone interfering with the wiring and hardware before it has time to heal in there. If all goes well today and X-rays show that the pain is just slow healing then therapy will get hard on me again and we will do those bars until I have them worn out. Not quite gymnastics but are helping me put pressure on them. I am so excited to walk again.
Oops got a little carried away again. We will talk soon Sweetie!
-
Good luck today - want to hear about you doing flips soon!
