Seniors should be tendered to tenderly for what is left for them to do, first is more times than not restrictive, and unless you are in their age bracket cannot understand how fast life is dissipating.

I am sorry I have exhausted my six and I could give you only five stars for this most sublime poem. Yes, I know that we become wiser as we age. I am now running 63 and you are 9 years senior to me. Thanks for the words, you place your invitation to the Higher Power. Thanks for sharing and all the very best in the contest, Kit

In less than a month I will be 79 years old if I make it to that point. Much of what you wrote resonates with me, but one thing you stated more than once, one thing you stated that landed wit the force of a bomb blast, was the minding of ones own business. I do not think that I would have lasted this long if I had not observed that mantra. Truly, there are few things in life more important to learn than to learn how to "Mind your own business."

Nomi, dear FB friend -- Wisdom flows downward from heaven. Sometimes it sticks like glue, at other times it runs off like rainwater, I am so glad my God is patient with me!

I do relate. We have gone through life and witnessed many emotions, many great days, heartbreaking days, etc. However, it is never too late to change. If only the young could see into the future. Imagine how much better this life could have been for everyone. Thank you for posting such an awareness poem. And the picture is lovely.

Excellent and an easy read.
Full of all thoughts of a elder has while waiting for the 'sandman'.
What could of, what should of, and what is.
Most important is don't wake the wife.
Good job.

I can certainly relate to much of what you say. I'm so limited in what I can do in these later years, and sleep does not come easy. The old saying that "youth is wasted on the young" is so true. Thank you for sharing. :)

JLR,

Wow. Surely everyone here will be able to relate to your words in SOME way. Those crazy thoughts that won't stop when we need them to. The middle-of-the-night urges that we can't ignore. I don't want to even get started about the part on remembering, rewinding, regretting... YIKESS

Favorite moment:

Again, reclined, I embrace the tug of heavy eyelids
welcoming the silence of the hour
to replace my busy mind

Very tender, real, and enjoyable. Thank you!
