She sounded like a real fun lady, obviously this is how Jackson was a well adjusted boy when you met him, and how you make such a loving couple. Well done, you know this is not really a haiku? Blessings Roy

A very well-written poem about the loving nature of a grandmother is precious especially from an in-law who can do stones be too judgmental and make the new incomers feel unwelcome.

Sally, is that photo one of your grandmother?
What a gorgeously sweet person!
I love your Haiku, but I may have found an error: the second stanza is 8 syllables. Not 7 . Is that alright? You could put ev'ry for " every "
Have a nice night, Sally
Hugs

Thank you for the review Cindy dear. I use a syllable counter for all of my poetry.
Line two is seven syllables:
Every=2
Little =2
Thing=1
You=1
Do=1
Total = 7 syllables
I do tons of syllable poetry and can?t live without it. Sending you my best today as always,

Hi, Sally, I just wanted to make sure. I wasn?t trying to be an English Teacher, I?m not that good. Your are a much better poet than I, butbi thought that was an error. I learned that the ?y? sometimes functions as a vowel. Mine was an honest mistake. I want to still keep in touch because you?ve helped me many times, plus I want to learn from your writing.

Is this great artwork...yes...loved, loved, loved this older "spunky" as they used to say, lady. I want to take her home.
It is a perfect accompaniment to your sweet and loving poem. I'm happy for you that you've had a lady like this in your life. Everyone should.
What you say in your notes, that she was a party waiting to happen, would make a nice alternative title to your work.
The Haiku syllable rules are met.
Blessings.

Hello Sal.
I can identify with your tribute to you husband's grandmother. I was raised by my grandmother. She was the one thing in my life that kept me going.

Ah, I?m so glad to hear that. I lived with my grandparents for a while years actually. They kept us together trying to mend my parents broken marriage. It didn?t work my mother finally left with us in tow. They were more proper as Europeans. Children were to be seen and not heard. Jackson?s grandmother was just the opposite and was so precious, sweet, and kind.
Sending my best today is always with many thanks for your kind review, Sally XOs...

Hey Sal.
I grew up in a house less than 500sq ft. Family income was under $200 month. My Grandma told me even though were very poor, I didn't need to take any s*** from anybody. I have lived by her words. It made me bold and I never forgot her saying that to me. She had a plaque on the wall behind her chair. "Jesus never fails." She died in 1969 and I still think about her every day.

SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE WOULD BE A FUN PERSON. I NEVER REALLY KNEW ANY OF MY GRANDPARENTS. MY MOM'S PARENTS HAD PASSED AWAY BEFORE I WAS BORN AND MY DAD'S MOM LIVED IN MI WE WERE IN CA. THIS IS VERY SWEET.

Thank you for the lovely review and personal history. My grandparents were the same even though I lived with them for three years, I barely knew them. Jackson?s grandmother always made me feel so loved and special. She had that way about her.
Sending my best today as always, Sally XOs...xo..

Oh, that's a beautiful haiku and almost 'bleeds' into the realm of a senryu with all the feelings it evokes!! ;) Wonderful offering for the contest, my lady -- best of luck and thanx for the smile! ;) Yvette
