Thank you for your lovely Thanksgiving post, Sal. Your custom of making room at dinner for guests who otherwise have nowhere to go is beautiful, and so true to your (and Jackson's) personality. You are right about the difference such simple kindness can make to someone alone and/or in distress, as Katherine's example shows. May the blessings you bestow on others continue to come full circle as well as spread like ripples on a pond....

Hi Sally. What a fine thing to do, opening your home to those who have no place to go on Thanksgiving. If I was there, I'd drop in. My kids will be traveling and I will be pet sitting their furry kids. I'll sing in the choir at Mass on Thanksgiving and then attend the group dinner at the church--so it all works out just fine. Blessings to you and yours. Marilyn

Aw, thank you for that. My mother was the example for me for she excelled in hospitality. She made every holiday special even when we didn't have much.
Sending you my best today as always,

Hi Sally. Your practice of inviting people to Thanksgiving is wonderful. This is a nice narrative and a nice thing that you do for other people. God bless you for that. The Bible says that we sometimes entertain angels unaware. I'm not sure if I ever have. Opening your home to people is a Christian thing to do. I wish you and your family Happy Thanksgiving this year. Z

What a wonderful story. My cousin worked with institutionalized people with handicaps, some without families. She invited one patient to Thanksgiving dinner. I was there too and was thrilled to see how much fun he had. After that, she brought him home once in a while, and Jim became one of the family. Why not? if you can offer love and companionship, DO IT! It doesn't cost a thing and the rewards are amazing. :)

I love the holidays because it gives us the perfect excuse for inviting 'unlikely' people to our table. In the past, we've had people from all walks of life, and it was tremendous fun. Happy Thanksgiving, Sally, to you and yours.
