What can I say except this was very touching. Beautifully written.
I wish for those times, too, but they are gone, for good, I'm afraid. Times when the company care about its employees and there were things to talk about other than politics.
I don't how it could be said any lovelier than you said it here. 8-)

Dawn, this is beautifully written. It is so emotionally charged and allowed the reader to feel connected to every moment of sadness of a time when life was better, more trusting, safer, more loving. These lines in particular really struck a chord:
teenagers could go to a concert
without going to Heaven...
people could go for an evening stroll
on the Champs-Elysees
on the London Bridge.
It's falling down...did you know?
These lines really did sit out and maintained my attention. Life is getting so hard in so many ways. Where do we begin to change...
