I like the traditional c & W songs not the pop country that is out today. This reminds me of the REAL stuff.
Your message is great. So many do not take the high road because that takes effort. The low road is an easy way out.

Traditional Country music is the real stuff.
This Modern day Pop-Rock they currently try to pass off as Country is not where it is at, not by a long shot!
Give me Merle, George, Tammy, Conway, Loretta, and especially my dear personal friend Billy Walker every day of the week, and you'll be singing my song.
(These name just a few of the real Country Music Legends).

You might say the son learned his lesson, but it's way too late as it sounds like he's about to be executed for murder. Great truth in your tag line. Always take the high road. This really touches a lot of people who've made mistakes and find they're too late to correct them. They regret letting people down, as the narrator in your song did.
