I can actually hear the chant as I read your opening stanza :-)
great cadence and alliteration in banger on the barbie
great expressions in the tickle a dead horse passage
reminds me of the kind of code language cooks and waiters use in diners
good alliteration and internal rhyme in the swimming in the sea...me line
lots of fun alliteration throughout
come on, world - add comma for direct address
this is lots of fun and quite clever, my Aussie friend :-) Brooke

G'day Brooke, Glad you got a giggle. I wondered how much Americans would understand our strine? We had to have a cook-out indoors because of the rain (banger on a barbie) I am pleased so many readers loved the poem and LAUGHED! I aim to lift faces and make you grin. Love, K.

Hi Aussie cousin, well your poem didn't make an ounce of sense until I read your Author notes, then it became brilliant! Great little poem about the virtues of your great nation my friend.

G'day Eric, Yep, we do have a second language and I wondered how many would read my notes - you did, and had a laugh. Thank you my distant friend. :-) Kay on Australia Day! LOL.

Hope you had a great day Kay x

Had a good day Eric. Pie and sauce with mashed potato of course. Or bangers and mash is an alternative. No, we are both disabled and don't take much notice of celebrations, however, we did have some sausages indoors because it was pouring with rain! LOL.

LOL! Just put a poem on about one of your heroes Kay
