I love the creativity and I wanna do this to someone. How fun! We're always looking forward to doing stuff like this, last year I got my brother a gift card but you can't just give a gift card. So...I got a tupper of water, put the gift card in and froze it. He got a chunck of ice and a gift card, he just had to let the ice melt first. His face was priceless. The one year I got him a gift card (he's a hard person to shop for) and I wrapped it in a box with a bunch of his books and movies (yes, I took them out of his room) put in one of my flip flops and wrapped them all individually. As he's unwrapping you hear him say: I already have this movie, Hey, I have this book already...then he got to my flip flop and realized it was just a joke. Sad thing is I had to point the gift card out to him because it got lost in everything he had already opened. He then informed me that book, yeah, he was looking for it the night before to show my aunt. No wonder he couldn't find, go figure. LOL. It was fun. LOVE This!

That is terrific. I'm going to remember the ice block. That's a fantastic idea...can you imagine a piece of jewellery frozen inside. LOL.

Thanks for the stars. I really appreciate the bling.

The one year my brother wanted an orange box, it was a gaming thing, so my parents bought it but they hid it in the basement and instead of putting it under the tree they spray painted an orange box and wrapped it. My brother went through all the presents and after he was done he was surprised he didn't get the orange box. Just a painted box of nothing. We laughed at him and my parents went: Wait, wasn't there one more? They went and got it for him but we all had a laugh on his behalf. That's why we never asked for an orange box

Anything specific you wanna wrap? When we were little and like to shake presents my parents wrapped them with marbles and pennies so when we shook it we never knew if it was the present or if they did something to it to make it rattle. Wrapping is more fun that the actual buying and picking things out. If I could just wrap everything and not buy any of the stuff I'd be fine. It's so relaxing and fun

Haha, I'll keep that in mind. For my mom we're fixing her radio. If my fiance can't fix it we're going to make her an appointment, pay for it, set up a loaner and wrap the appointment card and then we'll tell her how we paid to have it fixed. Is there something with his car you can buy? My fiance wanted his computer upgraded so he told me what to buy and I bought a computer part for him today

My son is both a service manager and IT specialist...see how tough it gets. And clothes/electronics--forget it. Jewellery--well I was in that biz for 30years!

Thank you. I actually pulled an all-nighter, probably invested 30 hours to get this one put together, so I'm very pleased it touched you enough to give me such a generous review.

Very sweet story. Well told with a happy ending. You should
get extra credit for improvising the gifts to match the
lyrics. Good luck in the contest.

This is a wonderful story and I loved it. I am not ashamed that I cried with joy at the end. Just a couple of things,
'I almost (spit) out my wine' change to (spat)
'determined(--determined) to give Mama back her little girl- delete ()
There was another mistake in the ballet bit and where the writer got the ad from as well.
Great story and thank you for sharing.

Thanks you so much for your generous review. I always appreciate reviewers taking the time to spot errors and I will look at the three you mention right away.

I love bling, and I'm glad that my story was worthy of your six star accolade.

I couldn't forgive myself, Ingrid, if (in spite of the minutia of SPAG) I didn't give you a 6 for this delightful story. You had me laughing until the tears started filling my eyes at the ending.

"She called, alright," he said, ["She called ALL RIGHT," he said. >> Alright is not a word.]

with and make pretend phone calls [spacing error after "make"]

but--brace your self, Deborah--I think Billy's trying to tell me he's gay." [This is FUNNY! Also, though, "your self" should be combined to "yourself". The way you have it means "your spiritual self".]
