Snow flakes like white diamonds
Are winter's offer of gems
That I would love to refuse
and send back to where they came
Because they just turn to mush
and slush is no good on the farm
Well done with your entry, Buck

How fun to read your review of the Haiku. But just think of all that nitrogen the 'mush and slush' leaves behind to nourish the farm. I like the internal rhyming in your lines.
Thank you Buck for this review. :-) Carolyn

This is a beautiful poem that the author has created with this piece of work. It won't be long before we see the icicles here. Winter is well and truly on the way. They say it is going to be a hard winter here in the UK.

If the wooly worms can be trusted, we are in for a nasty one ourselves. So glad you enjoyed the Haiku Tom. Thanks for the great review. :-) Carolyn

lovely idea for an aha
the diamonds from the sky look great in images like this; maybe feel less wonderful out there in the cold
great image chosen; half the battle in presenting these 5-7-5 poems, especially with the aha prompt
really like the connection between:
lacy white diamonds ...and ...winters snow gems
good luck with this gem

I went to Colorado once to see my brother and stood on his front porch looking up at the mountains and looked like flecks of diamonds in the sun light shinning on the snow

Carolyn;
ingeniously creative, remarkably colorful, perceptual imagery, sensational descriptive conceptual grandeur,
masterful feel of movement of the idea are just a few of the many qualities this poem he has creatively given me.
The first two lines of your writing are the juxtaposition of imagery is very descriptive and your satori or third line sums up the totality of your poem or haiku. Good luck in the contest for this is an excellent entry.

Dear Alex, thank you for this great review. Should I extend the explanation in the authors notes more or do you think they are ok. I like what you have written here as well.

I think your office notes are very helpful and in the you should keep on doing it.
I do suggesting compacting that authors notes.
And you are so sincerely welcome Carolyn.

Hi, Carolyn,
I like snowflakes as diamonds and gems. Nicely stated and presented with great artwork.
Nothing more tranquil than a gentle falling snow or rain. Can lull into believing all is right with the world.
Great job. Good luck in the contest.
Cheers & Blessings

This beautiful blue and white background complements the essence of this scene like a romance that dwells between two star crazed lovers, that have fallen so deeply in love.
I am facinated with this little gem because the icicles alludes to the beauty that sparlking jewels possess.

Comment from Jeanie Mercer
This has some lovely concrete winter imagery. I really am just not sure whether the technique is "Leap Linkage." One little nitpick, however: "winters" in the last line needs an apostrophe to show the possessive. Good luck to you, Jeanie Mercer
