Thanks my dear friend, I love this time of year although I must admit, one snow will be enough to do me when winter comes. When I found that picture on fanart, I could not believe the stunning resemblance. I promise, I didn't take it, but I wish I could have. Love you, hope you are doing well. Are you still taking care of everyone? And yourself too I hope. :-) Carolyn

Great Tanka and you did a good job with the pivot line, line three, so that it could be divided into two poem and still make sense.

Kaleidoscope turns
color burst on western sky
brilliant red-gold

brilliant red-gold
sets the tops of autumn trees
divinely ablaze with fire

Hi Carolyn,

You've done an amazing job of conveying the blazing picture with so few words.

Makes one want to stand up and sing How Great Thou Art at the top of one's voice!

Have a blessed Sabbath.

Until next time,

Sonali :)

I know you can fix this so going with the rating it deserves for beautiful content. 'Brilliant' is a two syllable count making you a syllable short of requirements in one line. I checked six different references before reviewing this and I am pretty sure the judges are going to be LESS considerate LOL. Love you and know you can make this good to go before the judging begins.

Hi there and thanks so much. I checked the count on Kaleidoscope but wasn't as diligent about brilliant. Un-brilliant of me, wasn't it. LOL. Take a look and see what you think. I know Tanka contest rules say you can use fewer syllables on the entry but I wanted to stick with 5-7-5-7-7 in this one.
    Love, Carolyn

What a beautiful scene, Carolyn. Nice little poem to go with it. Not sure of what a Tanka consists of, but this is good. Love it. Miss Sally

    Thanks Miss Sally,
a tanka has 5 lines, syllable count of 5-7-5-7-7. I counted til I was blind. LOL . Contest rules are finicky, however, they were actually lenient on this one. I am glad you liked it. I write them for pleasure as I have no idea what it takes to win one of these contest. Smile... :-) Carolyn
