This was such a pleasure to read. I was nodding my head all the way through it. Yes, that's me. Yes, need to finish doing something before l am drawn back to the computer. Counting the hours like people count sheep. I felt as if you were talking to me. Loved it. Genya

Hey Dallas, this is a great entry for this competition my friend, the worst of it is, that everything you have written is true! Good luck my friend.

What a fun contest! I love the Eagles, love the fact the contest is not blind, and am enjoying the different interpretations of the titles. Great take on "One of These Nights." I have to admit I so relate. I was addicted for several years to FS and the prompts. No more. I come and go and have other things to balance my life (like sleep LOL!). Fun write. My best good luck wishes in the contest. Sue

Thanks for reviewing. I am just now approaching the stage of awareness, hope it leads to action. Good thing I live alone, otherwise family would be tempted to do an intervention.

So honest and so true. To tell you the truth, I had a similar crisis and vacation for a week, no Fanstory, pretty much solved the problem or at least gave me the clarity to approach the site differently. Marathon reviewing? No more. Posting high? Nope. Too much reviewing. Caring about rank? No more. Doing pretty good about it too. Of course, there is next week.

It's a good thing I live alone or my family would probably try and intervention. lol. Good luck with your venture. Three steps forward and one step back is ok too.

One good thing- I am writing more and , for the most part, just reviewing messaged poems and poets that I enjoy.

One of these nights
sounds like a plan
To take a stand
and say goodnight
but by all means
not tonight noooo
tonight won't do at all
cause I'm hearing the call
of look and see what's happening now
Well done, Buck

Your story's my story: coffee, PC, and so long to sleep! This is a great midnight One Of These Nights Sandwich. But sometimes I think priests, rabbis, and monks have the very right idea. Sometimes. But certainly not right now.
It's almost 8 pm here in Chicago-land, and though I'm quite tired, it's going to be interesting how well I do tonight. Or tomorrow...

How well I recognize that "pull of a plunger"! And then you hit me with "At my age, some of the old vices are either no longer attainable, or would probably kill me." You are telling my darkest secrets here.
Very well written and a blast to read! Thank you for the delight you have provided.

This was really good, and I recognize myself in it, too. The pull of the computer, the loss of time, and desire to get another review! Hahahaha ADDICTED! Nice job of writing about it!

I feel if you've watched me at home and reported on my Fanstory pull. This is witty and a hit in the gut to probably more than half the writers here. The aching remorse is told with passion and regret which I can relate to one hundred percent. But, yeah , is better than drinking and smoking right?

Everyone could relate. We are not alone. Gave up those other two vices years ago.

The prompt being met, this is apparently a typical situation among Fanstory contest addicts. what did they use to say about not starting a paragraph with a number?
Whatever. Five of them.
