Hello. Very clever. I liked this a lot. The picture of the letter. It's a whole different spin on 'return to sender'(sorry I can hear Elvis, and that is a completely different idea:-)...now I gotta go turn on the King for a while.
Seriously this is a super piece, short not so sweet and really makes me think.
May you be well.

Thank you. I was looking the song, after I wrote this to add it, but wasn't sure if that was within the rules.

Ah well...I can hear it anyway. Are you an Elvis fan? I am sometimes embarrassed to admit it...:-)

I like some his music more than his acting.

A lovely twist in this. The whole story is there, with all the gory details left up to the reader! Clever use of the envelope to get a bit of extra information in!

Thank you very much. A picture is worth a 1000 words, right? :)

What a tantalizing tale that has tweaked my curiosity. Did he find this old letter after she departed? There is so much more to tell here, and yes, a nickel can be the difference between happiness and a lifetime of regrets. Good luck in the contest!!

a very interesting story for 60 words. The meaning is left to the reader, and I can be interpreted in a few ways.

Well done and good luck in the contest. Mary

What a chilling story you tell in such few words. At least he is now warned and can head their plans off. Wonderful artwork to enhance your story. Best of luck in the contest.

LOL! Lovely story. Short. Bittersweet. And funny as heck! I didn't see any typos either! Love, death, and money issues in less than 60 words. Quite a feat!

All gone for the sake of 5 cents?
I don't know American currency that well.

Maybe the story explains it all?

Just think of all those times someone
intercepted your mail though!
Their could have been a dollar in each
one you missed!

In 60 words you have created an effective story in its own right. You have made good use of language, and it read well. It was an enjoyable read. Faye
