This is well written and I can relate personally (my poem "Nothing.", very on it). It touched me here. I hope your friend is better, sounds like it. You did a great job at flow, verbiage, description. Very well done. As I said before, sometimes this font is hard to read but I know it adds to the look. If ever interested, Arial is easiest. Great piece!

An excellent poem that describes the true road to wisdom ,knowing oneself without covering imperfections, but acknowledge them, is how we can change them. Love the style and depth of your thinking and expressing truth. Thank you.

I heard an expression once in a movie I watched called, What about Bob? (Perhaps you've seen it. If not, it's a must see comedy ..) There was a line in there when a doctor told his patient that the best psychiatrist is the one in your own head.
Now of course I'm not suggesting that there is something seriously or mentally wrong with your friend, it's just that your first few lines of your poem reminded me of this.
Very often when we become depressed, we can solve out the issues our selves and in your poem, you in fact gave this most valuable support and suggestion to your friend, that they can use their inner strength to conquer her negative thoughts and turn them into positive ones. (Long sentence, sorry. A writer should know better LOL)
What I liked about your poem as well is the detail you give and ideas from different perspectives. I'm sure it gave her lots to think about. And of course the fact that you took time to write something just for her, she would have felt appreciated, I'm sure. I know you to be a fine friend, Dossie and so your care in interest for your friend was not surprising to me. :O)
have a great day!!

Steevie, I have this little secret, when I decide someone's my friend, which I don't decide lightly, I accept them, warts and all other imperfections. It gets tedious at times, but I always hang in there with them unless their problems become their life's mission - LOL. I did see "What about Bob" several times. I was impressed with Richard Dreyfus' "baby steps" approach to problem solving. That movie is an all-time classic as far I am concerned, I never tire watching it. I'll turn out something shortly. I'm working through some ideas, and hopefully, they'll all come together soon. For the present, I'm getting much satisfaction seeing you become a proficient writer and loving it! Regards, Dossie

How lovely to write such a lovely poem for a friend - glad it seems to have helped. I'm not always sure of my inner expressions but I shall certainly take your advice and try. You have written a good poem full of good advice. No rhyming but flows along well. I enjoyed reading it. Regards Dorothy

I as well suffer (more in the past) from depression. But inner strength, family and love, I found a way to control it and almost, almost eleviate any medication.
Your friend is lucky to have you... John

This is just lovely and very poignant. You have expressed the importance of our gut feelings or ESP, if you will, in a beautiful poem. Such wonderful style! Lou
