Unconditional love is usually given by our parents. In fact if they have to risk their lives, they would do it all over again if need be. To have unconditional love from someone may be a bit more difficult.
Love without jealously, accepting all the weaknesses with open arms and diving into their problem wholeheartedly with open arms - a bit tall to say the least.
But unconditional within the limits and bounds of love and harmony with a clear mind of what to believe and accept is more crucial.
Unconditional love between spouses must also comes with a commitment, a promise and an open mind. If we are not treated equally well or lacking love, unconditional becomes a very skeptic word.
Love does comes with conditions, like it or not.
Good write and this looked like a prose poem.

Thank you for the in depth review Ritchie! It's odd, I actually used to say the exact same thing about "unconditional love". Yes, I can see what you mean about having conditions between spouses as opposed to parents. There are many parents that do not have that though. Again, I used to say the same thing: "There is no such thing as unconditional with anyone other than family". She is my proof of God though Ritchie. She is exactly what I had prayed for, begged for, since I was a child, down to the most minute detail, including her own family. We happened upon each other at a time when I would find that I needed that encounter more than any other time in my life. Every part of our meeting is too powerful to be a mere coincidence or act of serendipity. In no way is this is a sermon, I am simply saying that the bond we share is very different. We were literally engaged within 30 days of meeting, something no one could believe, given our own personalities.
Our vows are as sacred to us as our own actual lives. Sure, there are consequences if say, one of us were unfaithful, but the "love" would not fade. I completely agree with you when you say that its a "bit tall". Quite frankly it is, but it Is doable and it Is possible. There is going to be A Lot of work down the road absolutely and we are prepared for that (she is actually a marriage therapist, really beneficial, sometimes annoying ;) ) but our love, our bond, grows stronger everyday.
I know this sounds naive, I would think the same thing, but it could only be fully proven if one literally could feel my emotions for themselves. So yes, I did use that term "unconditional" very deliberately. I could write pages dedicated to this thought alone. In fact I did. Perhaps one day I will share that here. It is what I read to her when I proposed.

I am so thrilled that you have found this true love. From what you have written and the time taken to wrtie it, you have found your gem - I will attest to that after reading your reply.
You might be surprised to know that I have myself used the 'unconditional' concept of life. Why so? If I had no expectations of the good and kind deeds I did, it can make me a very happy person. If I attached expectations and conditions then I could become unhappy if those conditions of expectations were not returned. And because I can do that, I became the happy person I am today and the most crucial question: Can anyone claim that they are truly HAPPY? Smiles.
You would have noticed by now that every poem or story ever posted here have a lesson in life to it and I do write about LIFE - one of the hardest to write if it expounded on the TRUTH of life with minimal error.
I did a good job of being unconditional and I am sure you can too. So don't despair as a review had to be realistic and I cannot let it go by without questioning its validity.
If I can do it - it does not necessarily implied that others can.
See, even in a review I expounded on the truth of life, LOL.
Cheerio and 'unconditional love' does exist and if one day it failed, then we have to learn all over again like "Ancora imparo - Still learning" (which I have appended in my reply to your message).
Have a blessed and cheerful unconditional day and happiness is just a breath away.

I agree. Oh absolutely I did not take offense at all! I love writing about it. I myself felt the same way before I met my wife. I truly enjoy your take on it with regards to "LIFE". Wow, I wish I could view it like that. I want to strive to. My ultimate goal is to be happy Ritchie. It really is. I want to appreciate all that has been given to me. Sometimes I'm afraid I appear to be taking it for granted though. I'm not. I just have a difficult time appreciating the present moment. If I did, I truly think I'd be happy. Thank you so much for sharing. Many of my pieces are on life as well. My life, but also a take on it that I feel many are able to relate to. :)

I can relate to your poems and I know the essence in them. If you can shorten the lines to make them easier to read, the metaphor and imagery will be clearer. A max of 10 syllable count per line can make a huge difference. Try it and let me know when it's posted and I shall personally review it diligently.
To be happy in life is quite easy. Live simple, think simple, have compassion in our hearts and feel for others if we can. Be charitable when the occasion arises.
Learn to let go and forgive those who did us wrong without conditions. Love thy 'neighbors' irrespective of how bad they are (they have something good too).
See, it is that simple it became too complex to do, LOL.

Of course, these are your feelings, expressed in lovely fashion ... this is your attitude, and actually seeing and experiencing your situation would make this poem more alive; I guess that is why their are movies (though even movies are a figment of the director's fantasy).
I could comment ... even write a book ... with the comments and questions that you pose in this short article. I like your thoughts. You do a nice job fancifying them (I know fancify is not a word, I just mean ... I am an engineer, dealing with facts and figures ... so the people that surround me are rather dull and absolute - not trying to take a thought and express it in a form that intensifies a feeling).

Love how this writer described in full detail for his unconditional love of his partner. True love is hard to find,but yet even harder to keep. Her ignorance to what she is, to what she does, to what she gives and to what she defines, allows her to continue to innocently change my life. (I love this image of your wife.)
She is the reason the seconds pull themselves around hours (amazing description)
piercing sticks of the suns (sun's) fingertips
But, if I did find this feeling within a few letters, my voice would weep when I spoke them (pure beauty)
