You've state all good points, but my favorite being the one that says, "when you attempt to destroy others, you are diminished by it ." That is so true, alone with the old adage that, "He who raises his voice first in the argument, loses." My wise mother told me, also, that continuing to dwell on hurt and anger only hurts me, not the person who caused it. Good essay. Thanks for sharing.

You wrote a very nice and inspiring article. Was this written based on personal experience? Or perhaps observation? I think visualization is a great tool in pretty much all aspects of life. Some people relate it to a self fulfilling prophecy. Nice job.

Timely and well presented advice, Titan. Once you articulate a goal, then you are able to break down the journey into clearly defined steps that can be followed or readjusted as necessary. Often it's plan B or C that finally gets you where you want to be. Well done. :) nancy

Your piece is brimful of common sense. I am tempted to add my bit. The philosopher Gurdjief used to say that there is no such thing as pure emotions so all emotions are negative emotions. And we have a right not to be negative. Note the phrasing. Kierkegard wrote of our sickness unto death and claimed that a purity of heart is to will one thing. He, by chance was a God believer. It seems that all the issues you deal with are concepts of the mind which can be resolved through time, another concept of the mind. So we are caught in the chains of past and future. My favorite instructor, one Krishnamurti tells us that the mind is made up of things past. But the past is dead therefore our minds are dead and that is the tragedy of our lives. Only in supreme awareness which is something of the present can we have an explosive reaction in relation to others and to our challenges. Wisdom and understanding exist in us and around us. It needs passive awareness to awaken. Or as Gurdjief says; contrary to social understanding we need to make our personalities passive and our essence (essential selves) be made active. I hope I have covered your ground. -Ekim777

An attitude can cost you very dearly, especially if you are a hard case to boot. Changing your attitude is all important to make a useful human being out of you. Well written and well structured. Well done.

Great advice. I see it helping several people. You seem to have a knack for helping people. I found some of the advice you are offering through trial and triblation, and it really works when you learn these skills. Good work!
