Your father must have been a great story teller if I judge him from this poem. I am not so keen on Western in general, but this one is good and makes an excellent contest entry. Best wishes for it.

He never wrote anything down. I filled in a lot of details that neither of us remember any more. I'm glad you liked this western. Thanks for this great review and the good wishes for the contest.

Why not-LOL.

A history of the West in this poem so well written, has the pace of country music. I really enjoyed reading it!
Congratulations!

I'll take the stars you want to give it. I'm considering breaking it down to make it easier for kids to read. Thanks for this wonderful review.

The artwork is so nice it made me remember those cowboy movies in olden times.
The message is adorable, amusing, entertaining and fast-pacing details of Jerry-Jing-Jang stories. My amusement is coupled because of the rhymes present in almost every other line.
Very well done.

Great story. You pulled off illustrating a pretty good little story within the rhyming scheme. Sounded like a television theme song as I hummed along. Thanks

I'll have to find someone who can set it to music! I was surprised to see how many people thought it had a tune. I have zero talent for music myself. Thanks for the great review.

Laughing out so loud the neighbours must be wondering! This is wonderful. Knowing the ways of drunken men (usually in search of a lemon tree) I wonder if the first actually made it to the place with a hole in the seat?

Haha, I suppose any tree would do. But I wanted the poem to be family friendly. Thanks for this wonderful review. Glad you enjoyed it.

Fun read about the infamous Jerry Jing-Jang, although I've never heard of him personally. The rhyming words are perfect.
I think splitting the poem into a few stanzas would make it easier to read. But that is just an observation and you may take with a grain of salt.
Cheers!

He's my dad. His real name is Gerry but I changed the first letter so kids could sound it out easier. He made up the Jing-Jang part himself. As for his adventures, well...they make good stories.

what a nice old fashioned western poem here..just a joy to read to the very end..But the townfolk all knew who'd saved the day; Jerry Jing-Jang had earned that sheriff's pay!
excellent
