Man, the dates I used to have in a drive-in. I'm surprized they even exist these days.
Good entry!
One suggestions: home town [hometown]

Hi OldVet! Thanks for taking the time to read this one and for your comments. There used to be over 4000 drive-in theaters across the US, now they number only in the hundreds. Thanks for the hometown tip, too!

Oh, how I loved the drive-in. It was sad when they tore them down. For years, they stood as a reminder of carefree times. Now they're still empty lots.
An enjoyable read, no nits or esses in sight. Thanks for the memory! And good luck in the contest. Sue

Yeah, I remember you're a huge movie buff, Hitch. You'd have loved these drive-ins...two movies--sometimes three--for the prioce of one. There's only around 400 of these dinosaurs left in the US and there used to be over 4000. I read that Australia still have some in operation, but none in NZ.
Thanks, Hitch!

I love our drive-in movie theater and I'm so glad they've kept it up and running. It was closed for a long time until a family bought it and restored it. I loved going as a kid in my jammies...and taking my kids inb their jammies, too. They use the car radio for the sound system now which is so much better than those tinny window speakers. So much fun, and waaaaaay cheaper than the multiplex. Thank you for your review and comments, M.

I am sad to report that the last of the drive in theaters in my neck of the woods was demolished at least a decade ago - we had a chance to take our kids to one to see Superman before they tore it down. I remember so many nights in my jammies as a kid and then those nights of necking when I was a teen - I'm thrilled for you that you still have a drive in to enjoy. And not one S. Good luck with this nostalgic entry. :-) Brooke

Thank you, Brooke, for taking the time to read through my s-less shortie and for your wonderful comments. I'm so thrilled they've kept the 49er up and running since 1956. We get stereo sound now from the radio so no more tinny-sounding window speakers. They play the National Anthem and everyone honks their horns when it's done. Then they play the oldie cartoons like Woody Woodpecker and Chilly Willy before the movies. For the intermission, they play the old ads for those mosquito coils and the dancing hotdogs and popcorn keep time until the intermission is over. It really is a blast and way cheaper than any multiplex theater.
Thanks, Brooke!

Hello IndianIrish,
This piece has a sort of nostalgic feel and mood to it. I liked the thought of going to a drive-in with a car full of friends. It would be a great evening, I'm sure.

Hello Sir Crusty! Thank you for taking the time to read and review this s-less shortie. I'm just glad it didn't have to be more than 50 words or I'd be up s-creek without a paddle. LOL
Thanks!

Thank you, Cassandra, for your great review. Not using any s-words didn't get any easier this time around than the other contest you sponsored! LOL Thanks for your comments and I'm glad it brought a nice memory.
