Outstanding story. You create a lot of suspense. Very ironic that they didn't realize that using such a weapon would ultimately turn against them. The diary device works extremely well. I wish you every good luck in the competition. This is a real corker! Best wishes. Ray.

Thankyou very much Ray; I'm flattered. I'm always after new devices to try, and new subjects to give me inspiration, so competitions give me a chance to breathe, as it were. I'm one of those people who's always convinced their new work is inferior to the older stuff, until it becomes the older stuff of course! Anyway, thankyou for the positive review, and the encouragement.

An interesting story with an unsual content. The descriptive passages move this along. Having part of the story from a soliders journal works well here. Well written.

Thankyou ladybird. I am a little obsessed with flowery description, but I love writing it so :-). I'd never used letters/journals as a device before, so I thought it would be interesting to try.
