I couldn't help but smile as I read this post. I have never seen at DTE light come on. That being said, I always fill the gas tank when it gets to the halfway mark. My husband on his pickup truck, probably has because he like to only fill the bottom half of the tank. I often remind him; he'll get no sympathy from me when he runs out of gas. Cute story. I have a habit of talking to the invisible passenger too.

LOL Thanks for the laugh this morning. I must admit though, that if Immigrant song came on for me I would have done the same exact thing! Thanks for the day brightener.

Oh my goodness John! I have been there and it is a horrible feeling run out of gas and it doesn't do the engine much good either. I enjoyed your procrastination as you promised yourself to fill her up, but never did, a fun post, and a lesson learned, love Dolly x

To make running out of gas even worse was the fact I had to hear it from the Mrs. Hahaha...
Thank you Dolly.

I think lights on the dashboard have been the bane of a lot of people, but generally thinking they are very helpful, sometimes faulty, but generally good, beautifully written John, thanks for sharing my friend, well done, blessings Roy

Thank you for the entertaining read. I'm thankful that this hasn't happened to me in a while. But because it has happened, I would say at least 20 or more years ago. I am a little more careful because it was subzero one when that happened and luckily it was a couple blocks away from my friends house so she was able to take me to get some gas in a gas can so that I'd have enough to get to the gas station.
Good for you, though, that it didn't happen until you were in your prime. A lesson learned I'm sure that you won't want to experience again with your "passenger"
At least it's an experience that you can chuckle about, and also write about to warn all your other readers.

I love your stories, John, and all your self-talk and could absolutely imagine you rocking away to Led Zeppelin, without a care in the world! The trouble is, we have all this technology today but have a love/hate relationship and don't really trust it. And life gets in the way of giving it too much priority. As for tire pressure lights, forget those! They just go off, with a mind of their own, if you go over a pot-hole (which is all the time in the UK). This, of course, is worthy of a six but, I'm so sorry, I'm out. Please accept my virtual one. Take care Debbie

You always have the kindest reviews and thank you for the virtual six, it means a lot.
The tire pressures are good. The tendency has been only with the extreme cold. Never shows in the summer...
Cheers, my dear.

They got hills in New Jersey? All I recall is The Pinelands from Trenton to the Beach passing Fort Dix, now called something else, and including the McGuire AFB and Lakehurst Naval Air Station

Small overpass going over the Garden State Parkway.
Jersey has a few hills even a few ski slopes.
Thanks for reading.
