This poem reminds the reader that others definitely miss their mothers after they pass away. Thank goodness for Eternity. I still have my mother, although there are days when I wish she were as much fun as she used to be. She could still help with yard work last summer but not this summer due to health reasons.

Yes, I'm sure you've miss mom every day since her departure, but thank the Lord, we shall all know each other as we were on earth when we get to Heaven. Thanks for sharing.

My friend, how I ache for you because I know how you feel.I miss Mama something fierce, especially when life goes sideways or I'm sick. She was just the best nurse. Her homemade chicken and dumplings soup was scrumptious and healing. I had measles, chicken pox, and dry sockets after my wisdom teeth were taken out, and she was by my side constantly. When we had a chest cold it was Vick's Vapor rub, no arguments.
We're both so blessed to have had such wonderful, loving moms.
Extra hugs and love across the miles and six stars for this beautiful poem.
Love,
Sal XOs

I can feel your pain in this. Even though it doesn't really hit hard every single day, when it does hit, it hits hard. All we can do is cling to the memories, remember the smiles and the laughter. Those become a big hug to wrap their arms around us. Beautifully written, Debi. Gretchen

Awesome work! Great poem. I absolutely loved it! And I think there comes a time where we can all say this or go through such a thing. It's never a good time. We all must endure it and I still remember my mother as well. Great job and best wishes!

"just one more day" - I think so many of us wish that same wish, Debi.

Did you write this poem 29 years ago? I think it's so sweet that you remember her each year in a poetic way.

Do you have a birthday poem for her? You are the birthday-poem-queen, after all. It could be a joyous celebration of her life to balance the sadness here.

It's always a comfort to think of the eternity that awaits and the belief that you'll be reunited.

Take care, dear friend.

-Beautiful artwork and nice presentation, Debi.
-You wrote a lovely poem remembering your mother.
-I can understand your feelings about wanting her
to stay and also feeling a little down.
-The loss of our parent or parents is very hard,
and once in a while those blue feelings return.
-I think that any thoughts or feelings you have,
whether it is in this poem or just thinking
about her, that the message
reaches those we have loved, and we
remember them and keep them
in our hearts for the time we have here.
-You express that idea very well in your closing verse.

Your verse is beautifully poignant, Debi! It's strange how the older we get, the more we yearn to just sit down and have a chat about things with our late parents. I suppose because we've reached the age we remember them clearest at before they passed. Just a few tips would be great wouldn't it? Thank you, Debi, for sharing such a skilfully penned verse, infused with love. Take care Debbie xo

Hi Debbie, I passed my mom's age up many years ago that she was at. She was still doing cartwheels on the trampoline with my kids the year before she died.

Dear Roy, it is just that she was so young when she died. I outlived her by ten years now so she never even knew my grandchildren.

Beautiful poem remembering your Mum. It made me smile at the image of heaven, feel pain for your loss and sadness that I never had that relationship with my mum. Thank goodness for our future with our God :)
