This is a lovely poem about your mother and her love of butterflies. I suspect God has butterflies in heaven to beautify the kingdom. I have a granddaughter with a lovely butterfly in memory of her mother. We are going to try a butterfly garden this summer.

Hi Carol, I read my reviews right away as it is the highlight of my day.
But because it is so hard to go back and forth with thank you responses, it is always easier to respond to the most recent ones. And so often I get behind and this is what happens.
I don't like that feature here. I remember when Jan was here she tried to get that changed so we could better respond in the appropriate order.
However, I do appreciate you just the same as if I had just gotten this review ten minutes or an hour ago.
So thank you so very much for these lovely comments and for your kindness and patience. I do appreciate your dear comments about my mom.
Thanks again, my sweet friend! Love, Debi

Beautiful picture! I love that two butterflies followed you. I imagine we'll see many new species of butterflies in God's heavenly garden. I love to see them on the flowers in my garden. Great rhymes and rhythm to your poem. I especially like all the different rhymes you used with butterflies. Hugs! Carol

Thanks so much. So sorry I'm so far behind in responding to your lovely comments. Mitch is steadily improving. It's like learning to balance and walk all over again. Hugs!

Hey Joanne, I didn't tell you so you could come give it a six. I told you because you had a small part in it. And I love sending you the butterflies. I try to send you the most beautiful but I didn't want to use the ones I gave you so it is a good thing there are so many out there.
Thanks for the six stars too and for loving the same thing I do. Like I said, I always knew you were special. Love, Debi

I gave you a six because you deserve a six I loved your writing from the start. I?ll send you a picture of one of the pics I took when my niece passed away. A beautiful butterfly in my path. Take care and happy writing ❤️

Yes, please do. I can't wait to see it.

Joanne, I got the pictures of your butterflies today and didn't have time to respond, so hope you don't mind if I do it now. They were remarkable.. do you go to different places to see and find these? I am so impressed, and I thank you so very much for sharing them with me. I welcome them at anytime. You are so sweet and thanks again, with lotsa love, Debi

The butterflies I always saw when I walked around a pond where I used to live.there was one I?m sure he was chasing me. Everytime I?d go for a walk he would be flying in and out of my path.i told my grandson about my butterfly friend. When I?d take him out he would say nanny Jo is that your butterfly friend 🙂

Oooh, that is precious!! I love that! Now we are talking true love, grandkids and butterflies! LOL
We don't get many kinds besides monarchs. However I have one I will find and show you that I found years ago in my driveway. Maybe you can tell me what it is. In MN we are really limited tho.

Beautifully rhymed and metered. My family also ascribed special significance to the appearance of a butterfly ~~ a sort of whisper from the soul of a dearly departed loved one. Many cultures ascribe special significance to this, so we can't all be wrong!
Your final stanza brings tears of joy.

Hey K, thanks for the very sweet review of my butterfly poem. I don't know what possessed me to write about it now, but I am staying away from salt,so maybe I just need to keep my hands busy. But yes, every word in the poem was true. Thanks again, dear friend

I enjoyed going down the rabbit hole and reading about 12 different cultures that ascribe similar significance!

WOW this is a beautiful tribute poem to your beloved mother. I've been struggling with composing a tribute poem for my beloved mother without success so far. The picture included representing your poem is an excellent choice. It sounds like an inspired piece, by a true event, if so Please accept my condolences. Thank you for Sharing.

Dear Debi,
how very special!
What a wonderful little story woven through this beautiful poem for and about your Mom.
The connection of butterflies to you, your family and the beautiful lady who delivers them to allow you to know... yes, very special indeed!
How can heaven not be full of butterflies?
They show us the magic of metamorphosis and how this is possible for all forms of life, if so chosen.
So loved reading this poem... it is so beautifully constructed, composed and presented.
With our thoughts we create...
an eternal connection.
Warmest regards,
James.

James, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are so very kind, my awesome friend. It seems you always pop in at just the right time and always put the biggest smile on my face. I am so delighted that I was blessed to have you for a friend. Thank you for the kind words and the most gracious six stars. Bless you, my friend,

When my father in law was dying in the hospital, the cancer ward gave out butterflies. It symbolized that those who are physically gone are still with us. This was a beautiful poem. Gretchen

This is a lovely idea about your mother that butterflies symbolise for you her life and she is, therefore, always with you. A very wistful verse infused with love and nostalgia. Thanks for sharing, Debi. Debbie

What a beautiful and sweet tribute. There is something gorgeous about butterflies and their lovely array of colours - they are evidence that God occasionally likes to show off! :) Thanks for sharing this story about your Mum and this special connection with her.

Hi Debi,
What a nice poem! Butterflies, a sign from God. He does send signs. When my younger brother, Peter, passed away in July of 2020, right after the final prayer at the gravesite, a hawk screeched high above us. Right on cue! Peter was an artist, and painted a beautiful scene on my Yamaha acoustic-electric guitar. The hawk was his favorite bird.
I saw a gorgeous butterfly shawl pin the other day in the Hospice Shoppe. I'm going to buy it for my wife for her birthday (February 6th). She'll be 69 years old.
My favorite verse is the very first one...
"It started with my mother's love
For beauty in the endless skies
The birds and rainbows, stars above
But mostly she loved butterflies"
Nicely penned!
Hugs,
Kimbob
