You've written a lovely poem from that picture, and it does look fun ... if you're a child! I enjoyed reading your poem, all the wonderful imagery you delivered, ie, the dog on his leash, couple walking, the children on their sleds, the giggles and all the fun. Very well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you Sandra.

Perfectly done First and Last poem. I liked how you contrasted the different attitude toward the slippery snow from the adult drivers facing accidents and the happy kids enjoying sledding.

Thanks much! I am certain those of us who have been in such weather conditions can have reflective memories tickle their thoughts.

I like these Potlatch Club events with interesting rhyming schemes. Yes. East coast has gotten a lot of more snow than the Midwest. We had a few inches, just enough to ski. My hubby and I went skiing already yesterday and it was really fun. Yes. I didn't feel the cold when the wind chill was 2F. I even got hot.
Well done.

Smiles for you!

You told a great story of winter and snow, JLR. Good job, too,
with the rhymes, the smooth flow, and the great imagery. The
art choice was perfect for your well thought out words. The
one thing I noticed was the first and last lines need to be the
same as that is where the name comes from.
Thanks for participating, Jan

Nicely done. good images, good flow, tells a moving story. I like the following stanzas the best
A couple strolls around the park
on leash a dog with a deep bark.
The landscape turning white and stark
just barely seen were ducks and drakes
through the swiftly falling snowflakes.

Jake, thank you.

This first and last poem, Snowstorm, has the proper formatting, for the most part, welcomes with a wince the falling winter weather.
I guess the final line, according to the format, is supposed to be identical to the first.

Oh, I loved this poem! The second stanza was my favorite, perhaps because I remember that part of my childhood with such pleasure. I am from the far north of my province, where winters are long and hard, yet as a child, I loved the season. And yes, kids tend to play so hard that they are often perspiring inside their snowsuits. Lol.

I am pleased this poem evoked those childhood memories.

This was a fun poem. It didn't start out that way but I liked the balanced view of winter. There are bad things about it but some good as well. Though, this is coming from someone who doesn't like winter that much.

Good timing for this work. I am not so sure the folks in Buffalo are too happy right now but if their 'Bills' win then the aspect of dealing with a snowstorm will be tolerated. Fun poem.
