Awe. Your aunt sounded so kind and giving. Most people would just explain that life is unfair and to move on. She gave you something to fill the void you felt and I imagine you helped her as well. Great poem. Gretchen

    Thank you. I have never forgotten my aunt Grace's kindness to a sad little girl. She lived to be 103 and was always Grandma to me.

This is such a wonderful story! I think you had it great with your aunt and uncle as grandparents. What a delightful time to spend doing ordinary things that seem to have gone out of fashion. Not for me! Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the upcoming contest.

    Thank you. I never forgot the kindness of my aunt to a sad little girl. My aunt lived to be 103, and I still called her Grandma.

What a sweet and uplifting story, mystery Author. I enjoyed
reading it. The picture was a great addition to your words. You
told your story in a great way--I could feel the longing and
sadness. I believed both you and your Aunt & Uncle found
what was needed by all. I enjoyed the examples of how you
and your Grandmother shared each other's company and spent
time doing things as a family.

This was a nice story of a childhood memory. Very fitting for the prompt given for the contest.

I think you did fill her empty heart. You also found out how it is to have real and good grandparents, with your aunt and uncle filling the roles.
