I like how you describe the leaf, an analogy to life. I am glad things are looking up for you and walking is in your future along with being back home with your kitty.

There he is! Home and optimistic and posting anew! Love this, Jesse.
Most of all, love that your surgery was a success and you're on your way to walking unassisted!
I missed you!

Good morning, Karenina!
Thanks for the exceptional rating and review. I am grateful to be back home again and with Sunny my kitty!
The surgery was a success and now I need to work on walking with the aid of a walker. I am on my way to walking and hiking on the trails near my home.
I missed you too!
Take care, my friend,
Jesse

Welcome back, Jesse. I pray everything is improving day to gday.
I enjoyed your post. I agree with you about choosing to be happy
or not. We are surrounded by beautiful 'things' like the purple leaf.
We need to stop and appreciate each before it's too late.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Hi, Jesse. I was so happy to see your post and even happier to hear that eventually you may not even need to use a walker. Your 5-7-5 is right on target. And I liked the comparison to a purple leaf. The angels are with you, my friend.

Hello, my friend. One step at a time for me first I need to get out of this wheelchair and then to a walker and finally use my trekking poles to hike on the trails near where I live.
Thanks for pointing out the parts you liked best. The purple leaf speaks to me and I hope it spoke to you as well.
Thanks for sending the angels!
Jesse

Good morning, Margaret!
I am also excited to be back home and now the work has just begun where I work with my physical therapist in order to walk with the aid of a walker down the hallway to the end where there is a beautiful window to look out in.
Thank you for your good wishes and prayers.
Jesse

Hi Helen! I am grateful to return back home and be with my friends and my kitty Sunny. I also look forward to the day when I am walking unaided but until then I will be happy to walk with the aid of a walker. I will keep you posted!

I am so glad you are back home. Many friends here on FanStory thought of you and prayed for your speedy recovery. It's delightful that your first post after leaving San Francisco is a description of the bountiful trees at Elk River Estuary. Welcome home Jesse James, to FanStory.

I'm so glad to have found the next part of the story I read before.
I think you deserve six stars for your attention to detail: the purple leaf works as a wonderful metaphor.
I also think you deserve the stars because of the hopeful tone of your story.
There's just a small typo: Unlike the dying leaf. I am filled with hope...
There should be a comma instead of a period after leaf.
I'm sure you'll be walking again soon. Keep us posted.
Thanks for sharing.

Good morning, Maria!
Thanks for the exceptional rating and review. I am glad you liked the metaphor of a dying leaf and how I am not dying but have a resurgence of hope and will be walking as soon as I am able to.
I will keep you posted on my recovery.
