Hysterical! Somehow I just knew these clever "mature" women would get away with it! Terrific follow up on your previous post...and ingenious to make it part of this contest!!!
Your hook as to "Do you want to see who lives and who dies?" was the icing on the cake!!! I can see this as THE new pickup line!
So ROMANTIC!

LOL, Karenina, thank you for the fun review! Terry.

Great story--- soon to be a mini-series on Netflix I hope? (wink)
Comment from Mary Vigasin
This is just excellent. It kept my interest from beginning to end with the characters and the premise that two elderly women write a murder mystery and are then charged with murder.
It was their publisher who got them off.
Best wishes and thank you for great read.
Good luck in the contest and congratulations on your 100th post.

This could quite easily be a made for TV movie of the week or maybe even a limited series on a network like Peacock. This story has some sturdy legs and I do believe the story content is very much feasible and believable.

Nomi, thank you for the six stars. I think it is a fun premise. I appreciate your thoughts. Terry.

Whoa. I'm so glad I caught the first part of this last week. I felt invested. I'm not sure if I was angry with the jury or Paul for being too good of a lawyer or Kate for not cross examining the witness. Either way, I think those women got away with murder. This was a delightful and riveting read. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Well written. Nice, (well, maybe not nice) original plot. Good work.
But, being a husband of a 70 year-old wife, assuming the woman would give out first is a stretch. Bad expert witness!
Best wishes.

Well, that was an interesting trial and verdict! It seemed no one really wanted a conviction but they all wanted to test the theory themself. Love your sense of humor our.

Congratulations on your 100th Milestone post. OMG, this is the best way to celebrate this milestone. I'm surprised you didn't put a warning on this story. It's a great story. I remember the first one about these old broads. I cannot believe you put my maiden name in this story-Nelms. Are you thinking about me? wink-wink LOL
I loved that you made one of the broads a Black woman. This story had me laughing like hell in my house. It is so well done. I just wish the visual was of an older angel or of two older women. Type in your search engine "free images of older women, or free images of older angels". That's how I find my images. I download to my computer and upload them here. The story is perfect, but the visual could be better. You are an exceptional writer.

Sandra, thank you for the six stars. I am delighted you enjoyed this humor piece. You know you really hear that Nelms name much, don't know where I got that, and thanks for the tip about the pictures, I did wish I had a better pic. Terry.
-
Sandra, I also wanted to answer your question about a warning. I did not post one, but I did not get graphic in the details, not my style, and I thought it was obvious that it was a humorous effort to amuse. Terry.

You are most welcome. It was a great read. I have only met Nelms in Virginia.
-
Yes, it was obvious to all it was about amusement.

Congratulations on a Milestone Post. This story was riveting. I'm glad you entered the contest with a continuation of your previous story, Love in the Retirement Village. The ladies were not charged with anything in the first story, and were not convicted in this second story. This was well done, and imaginative.
Punctuation suggestions:
Yes, a literary agent had pitched the book to our company, it sounded interesting... (It sounded begins a new sentence)
Paul looks down at his legal pad. Smiles looks toward the jury, and says, "No further questions." (coma after 'pad' and coma after 'smiles') It's all one long sentence rather than 2 sentences.
Best wishes in the contest.

Wow! You just finished the story just like that! And I was thinking you might end it by the weekend so we could still have a six to give it! I love the twists and turns and how you revealed that it's not always how it seems on the surface. I pictured Perry Mason as your Hardy character.
Great story and I liked that the doctor said it's more likely that the woman might have the heart attack - an important piece of real fact!
One typo: Angela Bassett or Oraph Winfrey." (Oprah)

Helen, thank you for the sterling review and for catching my typo. I actually looked it up and then typed it wrong. The idea about the woman having the heart attack came from Spitfire, I have not told her that yet! Terry.
-
Shari will be happy to know she contributed to your courtroom drama!
-
I just added it to my notes, I should have done it earlier, but I forgot. Terry.

Meryl Streep is a good choice, but the other? Dane Maggie Smith or Dame Judith Dench. Probably the three best female actresses on, the planet. This is brilliant Terry, I knew they would get away with it, I'm sure plenty hearts have given out in the bedroom, we just don't hear about them. Well done, blessings Roy
