That is the one big thing I don't understand about America's doctors and hospitals. Here, in the UK, if someone is sick, they are treated until they are better, money doesn't even get mentioned. A homeless person would get the same treatment as a rich person. A foreigner visiting would get the same treatment. Yet yours would turn their own sick people away if they didn't have the insurance of the cash. How can they justify that? Pharmacists are now charging so much money for medicine, that we are struggling, but still no one is turned away. I do feel so sorry for Arianna, at her age she must feel devastated. I hope she survives this awful illness, Carol. Love, hugs and prayers coming over the pond. Sandra xxx

Good morning, Sandra. The land of the free seems to be only for the rich.... I can't imagine telling someone they had to die because they couldn't afford the treatment, but it appears it is a commonplace thing in this great country. We are hoping for a miracle. I believe everyone is equal and should be treated with equality not based on the $$$.

I will continue to pray. I am appalled at this, but honestly am not surprised. I have heard of hospitals turning away patients because they are not vaccinated. I thought hospitals were here to heal. I also happen to know illegal aliens are being treated and I am positive they don't have insurance. Our world is crazy. Thank you. Please keep us updated.

She did all the right things...vaccinations, insurance, and reaching out for help. None of it means anything at the moment. It's hard to imagine only weeks ago she was laughing with Matt like crazy and now she can barely utter anything except a moan in pain. Thank you for your prayers.

It doesn't make any difference, but did she get the booster? I'm just curious. I wasn't going to get it, but did because the airline required it to fly.

Hello Carol,
Your narrative has left me numb and angry.
I had a minor surgical procedure done in October, and I'm still receiving bills... For what? I have no idea. I just keep forking over the money. Any phone calls just leave me more frustrated and perplexed...
As for Arianna, may she truly receive the treatment she needs in a humane and expeditious manner...

Sending healing thoughts and positive energy...
diane

thank you, Diane. My son is devastated that his friend is given so few options concerning her life. All we can do is pray for a miracle... and I do believe in them. thank you so much.

What a horrible and utterly sad post. The system is broken if this girl with an outlier situation cannot get treatment for monetary reasons. The heart is being removed from the health care system. I have two daughters in the system--one a dr and the other a nurse==and they arre outraged at how the system is so cold for so many, like the homeless.

My heart breaks for the homeless and our veterans, but now it seems to be bleeding over into everyone's lives. The bottom dollar doesn't care about anyone but corporate's greed. There is no heart in business.

Hello Begin Again, a happy Friday to you. I hope this finds you well. I couldn't agree with you more. When they said we have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness it didn't state in fine print "if you have the money" what has this country become? In this land of the "free" (where nothing is free) the only thing that's you're free to work to death, (though it will cost your family to bury you, so even death isn't free.
if you don't have the money this is what you're free to do:
Free to:
suffer...
starve...
live in poverty...
live on the street...
drown in debt...
work to death...
rot in jail(cause you can't afford bail)...
die...
how are we the greatest country in the world?

My heart asks the same question. Only weeks ago this young lady and my son were filming the first segment of a Christian Trilogy and she was excited and on top of the world. Today, because of the almighty dollar signs, she is preparing to die. Show me the greatness in that line of thinking.

I'm so sorry this is happening to this lady. They must have decided it wasn't related to the covid, because I thought that treatment was supposed to be covered. My son says the virus attacks whatever part of your body is weakest. He broke his shoulder once and since he has covid it keeps going out of joint and he will need surgery. The insurance won't pay for. His wife had a tooth problem and since she had covid it is much worse and not she has to have surgery that cost $8000 and the insurance won't pay. I wish I knew what to tell you but I will keep praying for a miracle for Arianna.

I know we all have our problems and forgive my rant this morning, but knowing this young lady's life hangs in the balance because of dollar signs chills me.

Hi there,

Sadly this is becoming the case more and more. I live in the UK and we have a national health service but it is under enormous pressure at the minute itself for bed-space and so on.

It always makes me laugh when folk talk about capitalism being supported in the bible at the cost of charity and love but ther you go.

Forgive my doom and gloom this morning. It struck a horrible chord in my body when my son said Arianna was preparing herself to die when only a few weeks ago she was on top of the world in excitement for making Mathew's christian trilogy. Thanks for the review.
