After the Storm

Beautiful description of a wild and wooly storm that seems like a "sudden squall" and "roaring tempest." But after it is done, the leaves are "bedewed" and the "earth's renewed!"
I think these two lines need a few more syllables as they should have syllable counts of 12 and 10.
"From maddening thirst to craving slaked,
their will to live has been awaked."

I just found that out. I will take a look. Thank you for the stars in spite of my goof-up.

Wow! Yvonne, you transported me back to my childhood in Ohio when we used to get those thunderstorms. They would be so violent and then they would pass, leaving the air fresh and clean. What a picture you painted with your words. Well done gal. I love the photo you chose as well. The flowers appear to be lavender- are they? Beautiful whatever they are. Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem.
Blessings

I'm not sure what the flowers are. It looks like my butterfly bush. Thank you for a wonderful review. I'm so glad you enjoy thunderstorms, too. I do, as long as they aren't damaging.

I adore a noisy storm when I am tucked up inside safe and sound and dry. You creates some noise here with your words with the deafening clash of cymbals here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Oh Yvonne I do like this and felt the rain tumbling down through your descriptive words used. Another different style to maybe try a nice poem for the potlach poetry club
Cheers Chris

Your club poem is AWESOME, Yvonne! I enjoyed reading it. Your color scheme and beautiful image are perfect for your well thought out words. I like the great end rhymes, the smooth flow, and the personification of the raindrops. There's touches of alliteration, too. I could see and hear everything you mentioned. Your poem is exquisite in every way.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank YOU for such a glowing review.

I really enjoy your poetry. I should challenge myselt to try some of these new forms. Some of them make for excellent poems. I like the descriptive words you use in describing this storm and the aftermath with everything springs back to life with renewed vigor. We've gotten a lot of much needed rain lately and it makes a difference in the way the plants respond.

Thank you so much. They do so much better with rain rather than tap water. We had a few days of rain here, too. Thank you for a great review. Yes, do join us in Potlatch Poetry. It's fun.

I love the smell of rain, too. And everything looks so clean afterwards. Thanks for a great review. I hope your weekend is good, too.

I did enjoy reading your poem. We had gone two months without rain and then a deluge. Walking outside into my garden was just as you have described. I love the flow of your chosen words, even if it did make me pronounce command differently from what I am used to.

A strong imagery gallery. The word choices mimic the feel of rain. The flow is good. The message is developed well and the ending releases tension.
A good read. Thanks for sharing.

You have vividly described the best of rain storms. I especially like your use of SENSORY DETAILS describing what the rain looked and sounded like. I also like the symbolism of rebirth and rejuvenation described in your last stanza. A challenging rhyme scheme gave you no problems and a novel 7-line stanza format. I really like this poem!
