S9, L1 -- "There's children..." "Children is plural, so it has to be the abbreviation for 'there are'= "there're" is still okay with respect to meter, IMO, my brilliant friend. :))

What a delightful poem, and the presentation makes me want to have you illustrate any future children's book I write! :))

Aw, thank you so much, Dawn! No, you wouldn't want me to illustrate your books, trust me!! These come from Pixabay.com, you can use them for any purpose, private or commercial, and change them about, add to the pictures, and it's all free. Take a look! I forgot to put that in my author's notes, I'll do that now.
Thank you so much for the golden sixth star, my friend. It's so nice to see you on here again!! Sending you a humongous hug. :)) Sandra xxx ps, thank you for the pick-up, I'll sort that now! xxxx

This was fun and I loved the pictures throughout. I don't know if you've written any childrens books but this is a good start. Maybe I'll catch the next part.

So cute! I can imagine children enjoying this poetic tale written in Robert's cube 16 format. The illustrations are darling, and I think they would also appeal to kids in a picture book. Smiles!

Love it! I'm sure these two kids are going to have a great adventure under the sea. Maybe they can even fix the whale's tooth and he won't have to have it out.

Great job on chapter one. Looking forward to more chapters. I've been thinking about children's books. Now you have given me a boost in that direction.

Thanks so much, Paul, for this really encouraging review, and all the lovely stars! I hope you do write some children's books, I've written several now for younger and older children, and they are such fun to do. This one will have pages for children to colour in when it's published, a bit like an activity story book. Get to it, and I'll be across to read it. :)) Thanks again, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

well, shoot! you had me hanging on every word - reading your story out loud (to myself) and you stopped. That is a good hook. Will be looking for the next chapter. (and trying to find out about cube 16 format.)
This is a very cute story - lucky children - and wonderful pictures. Are you an artist, too? Your meter is spot on and rhymes unforced - as I'm sure you know. Anyway, a fun read for lucky children.

Thank you so very much, Katharine, for this fabulous review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed reading the first part. So much fun ahead!! No, I'm no artist, I wish I was. I find all my little pictures on Pixabay.com, they are free to use for personal and commercial use. And you can make changes to them. They don't just have children's pictures, but a wide variety of illustrations and photos. Look them up. Thanks again for this, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Your book is off to a great start, Sandra. The Cube16 works well for the theme and to peak children's interest and attention span. Your picture interspersed with the text add great interest. Your lines flow smoothly with good rhymes and great imagery. I enjoyed reading your fun entry, and believe all kids, young and old, will also.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

A sweet poem for the young folk. I hope they don't tell you, whales don't have teeth! I'm glad to see you writing here, we miss so much when you don't appear! A child would love this, adventure is life to the young. Best wishes. K xx

Thank you so much for this lovely review, Kay, and the golden sixth star!! I've been on the other side writing my novels. I've also written a series of teen adventures as well as my Time Travel series. This is the second book of this type, the other was Scout and her Magical Unicorn, written in rhyme like this one. I like a change now and again!!! LOL!!
You are the second person who have said that whales don't have teeth, so I've added a postscript to the end of this one, and will keep it there for the following chapters. The most famous whale that has teeth is the Orca whale. I'll add this to the end of the book for children to learn from. This is what I've added at the bottom of my poem....
Not all whales have teeth. Those that do, possess a varying number depending on the individual species. Some kinds of whales only have one or two teeth, while others might have 240 teeth or even more. Dental patterns can vary. Some toothed whales have teeth in both their upper and lower jaws. Orca whales, beaked whales and sperm whales are just three of the many whales that have teeth.....

Thanks again, my dear friend! You have a birthday coming up, haven't you? Warm hugs, love Sandra xxx

Sure is clearer for inquisitives now. Yes, I'll be 76 (Yuk) on the 17/9. Thanks for the clarity, most Humpbacks swim in our waters and siphon krill for their food. Love, Kay. xx
