This exciting chapter begins with a spectacular thunderstorm temporarily deterring the marauders approaching the camp of the elder and remaining members of his tribe. Og is distressed about how to protect everyone until a plan comes to him, prompting swift action.
Along the way, we learn that since Og's father died, the elder had become Og's friend and mentor, particularly about "she-creatures," for he has several of them of his own.
Also, in many places in this chapter, we are reminded about how much and why Og loves Ugg so strongly -- not just for her outer beauty but for her heart, mind, and important skills as well.
Capturing the black Arabian stallion near the exhaustedly sleeping marauders' camp certainly made a difference later on.
When Og and Ugg reach their tribe's camp, they find the elder had expected Og and already was preparing his family for departure. They all leave to go to the safety of Ugg's high cliffs, with rising wind at their back. I think any man would admire Ugg on the black stallion's back with her hair blowing wild in the moonlight.
Seeing a smaller group fleeing three oncoming mounted marauders prompted Ugg to urge Og to attack, as that would be unexpected. This is where the size and power of their black horse makes a difference.
My favorite passage -- so perfectly detailed:
But what the approaching marauders saw was an apparition, and terrifying to them. Coming through the night appeared to be a magic horse floating above the earth. On it was a screaming she-devil with a tornado in her right hand. Lighting and thunder were all about her, eyes ablaze.
Yes, this is how legends arise.
Throughout, it seems God was using the weather to protect our increasingly beloved Og and Ugg.
This chapter is a masterpiece, Sal. Superb, and aptly illustrated.

Dear Mike, this is such a wonderful and detailed review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this chapter and thought it six worthy. A six from you feels like a crown upon my head. I am honored once again. The particular section you mentioned is my favorite part, too. I always think that God is waiting for us to need Him and call for a solution. Sometimes, He uses the weather to do His bidding. (Don't tell the climate change radicals read this. It would spoil their narrative.) Well, that's my unique perspective on it. :)
Sending you my best today as always,
Sally :))

You are most welcome, Sal. Yes, God already has physics, chemistry, weather, and other natural factors in place, so why not use them? (The climate change pushers don't care about reality, only their evil agenda. If Obama actually believed in "global warming" he would not have spent fifteen million dollars on a house and land right on the coast. He knows it is just a hoax to benefit the Globalists.) The readers who most love your stories are the ones who understand both the importance of love and where it comes from. -- Mike

Wow! Exciting! I feel like I'm reading a scene from the Lord of the Rings! So captivating! And that first paragraph..Sigh...
Velvet skies gave way to white streams of light hastening to the earth. A downpour followed, cooling the land...Sigh...
LoL! Wonderful, and you go Ugg! She's a real warrior! xoxo

I think we all have a bit of Ugg inside of us. I have her hair, or should I say, I gave her mine. My tresses are wildest things! I'm so glad you enjoyed this and highlighted my descriptions. I've been working hard to improve in this area over the last year. As always, I am honored by your marvelous review, and the generous stars mean the world to me. :))
Sending you my best today with many thanks,

Haha! I have straight hair with a wave where you don?t want it. Thank God for straightening irons! LoL! It?s much longer now than in my profile pic. I?ve had it near my waist and up to my shoulders. I like it better long though. Since my children are bi-racial, they have the curls. Funny though, my son got the good loose curls but my poor daughter got the much tighter curl. You should have seen this white momma trying to tame that head. She learned early how to take care of it and it amazes me as she can braid her own like a Pro! Haha!! xoxo

I enjoyed this story. It sounds like Ugg and Og had some supernatural help. They were interesting characters. Nicely written. Ugg seems quite a capable she-creature.

I liked this story very much. Og seemed to be very much in love with Ugg and I love the fact that Ugg is such a strong and warrior like woman. Will the tribe be okay? I suppose I'll have to wait and see if the marauders get to them. Thanks for this. Respectfully, -January L.

I like the way you told this story as if God was protecting them, blinding the eyes of the invaders to what attacked but the apparition of a she devil, thus protecting them. And creating a legend, that with superstition to back them, would create a legend to shelter them. Well done Sally, an excellent story, blessings, Roy
Typo : Ugg fastest dogs were (summonded) summonsed? 2: was an (apparation) apparition?

Thank so much Roy. My spell check and edit completely blanked out on me and I had to start over manually. Thanks for catching these two misspellings. I appreciate you so much. You have my back for sure. Thank you for your many kindnesses. Sal xo
