Well now - you've almost topped yourself - this is a good one with many "octo" words that make sense. Enjoyed this poem - are you going to put together a small booklet? of these.

Thanks for your super review, Gail! Yes, I do intend to put a little humorous book together. I have written 25 stories so far but will probably not post all of them here on FS because I think readers might be getting somewhat saturated by them. What do you think? Are they still worth continuing with here on FS? Or should I just jump ahead and wrap up the series with my concluding critter?

Hmmm - well, it depends what you're thinking to do with these stories. For one thing you'll go through and cull out the very best for a small book.
Then for fun you could do some variations - such as the Octopus meets the goat at the edge of the ocean - or the cat and mouse get together in a poem. - what would that sounds like. things like that. I'm enjoyng them as they are creative. However, if you're not doing them for a contest, well... are they taking time away from competition (or does that matter)
You can use the critters in one of the prompts - like do a trimeric on a fish - or a ninette about the cat. Things like that - for variation???
    they're fun.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments, Gail. I enter the odd contest if the topic appeals (or I initiate one) but competition is not my driving force with writing. I'll stick with the style of these stories for a few more, as I have the ending written that ties them together in the search for a long-lasting boyfriend.

LOL! I was wondering when you were going to head back to the sea for inspiration and viola - here we are with an opus to the octopus. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

I thought you might like a watery creature.
    Thanks for reviewing.
Do you think I should wrap up this series? Maybe folks are getting somewhat saturated.
reply by Mystic Angel 7777 on 13-Oct-2019
Maybe you can parlay this into something similar but novel. What is you reversed it and had different creatures diss their human mates?
reply by the author on 13-Oct-2019
Ha... I think I am already doing this to a certain extent in my more recent stories- the critters are ditching me mostly, rather than me having a change of heart.

"i- tentacle twin" oh LisaMay, this had me in stitches. The octopus seems to have squeezed out the worst in you. You certainly rose to my challenge in spectacular fashion.

Blessings Julia

I'm glad you suggested it - quite a bit of scope to explore.

I saw a documentary. They are loving and fascinating creatures that change colour.

Unusual subject for this series but definitely keeps readers guessing, even with the keyboard. Fun ideas all over. Is there a chance anyone owned an octopussycat?

Thanks for reviewing. An octopussycat - now there's a bizarre mental image. It would need more than 9 lives in the ocean.

I think the last reply disappeared. Not to mention, stock in a scratching post company. My brother's cats are hard on our furniture. The black one thinks the world is her scratching post, no matter how much we scold her. And she won't use the post the orange cat favors.

My cat shredded the armchair. Even when I put a protective cloth over it, she would contemptuously pull the cloth aside and scratch the chair's fabric. She just ignored any scratching post I tried.

LOL. Those cats, they think they own the world and us.

You've squeezed this one for all it is worth. I can understand your penchant for a lover who is footloose and fancy free. Nine brains and three hearts. What more could a lady wish for?

He couldn't keep his hands off me, either! Reminded me of some teenage dates.

Ha ha ha, I loved this one Lisa! A very inventive write here, one of your best, I don't often meet these creatures, except when they are dead on my plate! Love Dolly x

Thanks for such a high rating, Dolly. Yum, octopus. I remember seeing fishermen's wives in Greece tenderising octopuses by smacking them against a rock by the seashore.

I think you're better off without him; I'm sure he's nothing but a well armed crook. But I bet his Ten tickles made you giggle. I guess the tide has turned on this romance, though {winks}

"He was rather handy in a tight squeeze" -- Ha, ha!

"his i-tentacle twin" -- Even a louder HA, HA!
