This is a well done Loop Poem, June. You picked a great picture or was it the inspiration for the poem.? The presentation is very pleasing as well as the subject matter. Food for thought which is what every writer needs. A good imagination. Nancy:)

Thanks for stopping by to read and review. I work in Salem and live near Essex here in Massachusetts. So, we're surrounded by old New England tales of witches, serpents and have actually worked on an historical site reputed to be haunted by the sheriff who hung the witches. So, lots of food for here for creative writing!

Good Morning, June!
How I appreciate the contents of your Loop Poem. There are, indeed, "Dragons who dwell in the caverns of a writer's mind." What a moving an interesting line of poetry! Our imaginations take us to the depths of despair and the heights of creativity. And the results can have devastating and/or enlightening effects.
I am so pleased you did not disable this exceptional write.
And I love your city of Salem... despite its history of witches and warlocks. Always found that part of American history fascinating.
Thank you for sharing!

You got what I was trying to convey - the mind of the writer can hold so much subconsciously that you never know what will surface and end up in a poem! Thanks for stopping by. Always nice to hear from you.

It took me back to the Viking era and they had lacey undergarments back then I hope. I think that it would be best read out loud. The rhythms and line endings would work well that way.

What a great ride touching writing history of fanatsy and/or legend or just pure wistful imagination. Using sestina form added a rhythm to the flow of words.
Great job.

You've written a very powerful poem. I can see why you are number 28 as a recognized accomplished poet. I absolutely love your last line: Dragons who dwell deep in the caverns of a writer's mind. This is so true and we never know what we are capable of writing until we sit in front of our computers and the juices flow. Good luck in your contest.
