Hello Anon
Very good writing this. It has pace, got going immediately and took me along with it - and, of course, drew me to the conclusion, although it was not the conclusion I expected.
I think these are strong elements in writing: to engage me early, keep me with you and 'deliver' something on a story level.
100 words is not that much to work with, so I must say you have done very well and it is a strong entry for the competition.
I wish you well with this and your writing in general
cheers
phill

Hi Bill,

You did a good job with this piece. Quite a menagerie of creatures but none, it seems the culprit. lol

nice sign off with the last line.

That's a good story, Bill! Maybe we need to come up with a trap to outwit those sneaky, clever mice! One of my clients has to keep his birdseed in a plastic tub that clamps shut to keep the critters out. Anyway, I like the story and wish you well in the contest!

Well, Bill, Walmart is trying to stay in business selling large plastic food bins with lids in the pet aisle.

Good job with your 100 word story. I enjoyed reading it. If the sack was left in the garage, of course, you will have visitors. Where is the raccoon? Best wishes on a fun entry. Jan

Lol. What a lot of wildlife you have out there. Where did you place this sack of bird seed? I find your means of releasing the various wild life interesting - Crisco, huh? I'll learn from your example and avoid the bird seed. The neighbor's cats would eat any bird that stops this way.

Hahahaha, Bill, Oh dear, I think that was a very prudent thing to do. To stop feeding birds, I mean! A great hundred word flash story an wish you good luck in the contest. All the best. Ulla:))

Hahaha. This was a great one and is it true that you can free things from those sticky traps? I was horrified when I used one as I had not considered the consequences.

Can't blame you for stopping the bird feeding. They can probably find food for themselves anyway. You certainly trapped a lot of critters, even a cat, no less. Reminds me of how frustrated my father-in=law used to get when the squirrels stole the food he left out for the birds. I think a lot of people can relate to this. Despite your good intentions, the critters prevailed. Well told. Best of luck in the contest. judi

This is funny and very good. I had no idea that sticky traps would catch so many things. It sounds like you caught everything except a mouse or rat. I like this Bill! Well done!
