Hi, Missy. How sweet this is from beginning to end. You have put the feelings of another down in poem so very well. I especially liked these lines. (so much heart)
"We've watched each other's hair
Turn gray
(Admittedly, I fought it tooth and nail)"
Bravo, Missy. Bob

Hey, Missy...
This is such a genuinely tender write and speaks to the notion that when it's finally time to go, and before we take our last breath, it won't be the things we owned in life, nor how much money we made, but those we loved and cherished we'll remember most in the end.
"Friends: It's not the quantity, but the quality that matters. You will meet a lot of people throughout your life, not everyone will be your friend. That's ok. You'll know when you meet a true friend. True friends are trusting and loyal. They are there for you during good and bad times. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. It doesn't matter what they look like on the outside. The inside is where you find their quality."---Alison G. Bailey, Present Perfect
Nicely done, Missy...

What a delight to hear from you, Dear!
I wish it was under different circumstances though...
I'm so sorry for your loss!
What a beautiful way to speak for her when she couldn't.
"alone In a crowded room" - beautiful image
Also, I like the reoccurring motif of goodbye that gets transformed by the end!
Also, your sweet sense of humor is such an unexpected gift in this :)

I'm sorry Missy about the passing of your Aunt. A death always makes us things we should or still want to say or do.

I enjoyed your poem although it is bittersweet. I can easily hear your aunt speaking these words to her love. Good job and thanks for sharing and caring.

This is very beautiful, and I do think anstory should have a tissue warning, as I was blubbing by the end of it. I do feel that this is really more poetry than prose, though.

So sorry for your loss. Extra sad when your soulmate passes away. The loneliness must be overwhelming. A love like theirs is rare. How wonderful you were able to capture that love in verse. Well done, Missy.
