What a great look into your psyche, Mikey (no rhyme intended, but hey...LOL), which is vital for biographical writing. I'm looking forward to part two (which, if I can say so without being offensive to others) is NOT something I say to a lot of biographical writers. I could name a few here (at FS) whose biographical stories and/or essays keep me hooked, but they pretty much count in the single digits - after all, do I truly, honestly, REALLY care if you like your coffee black as opposed to a creamy, sweet brew? LOL.
Well done. No suggestions/nothing to edit that I could see. :))

It is a great rhyme though. Vanilla caramel in my coffee, but I love coffee, so, however I can get it. :))
Thanks so much. There are a few here that are totally engaging when they talk about themselves, I agree. Just a few though. So that's a cool compliment. :)) mike

I felt I couldn't really review this on its own so I thought I would review part 2 first. Having reviewed part 2 and made a complete hash of it here I am back at Part 1 again and now I really don't know what to say because my concept of Part 1 is coloured by what I found in part 2. So I behg leave to be excused and will just grade this the saame as part 2.

Exactly. My sentiments to a tee. I harbor no envy for the conclusions you've reached. Indeed I celebrate them! mike

Hi Mike, this is a very good discussion you are raising here. Jealousy, is not pretty when it rears it's ugly head. As I see it jealousy is most often expressed by people who feel inferior to the other person. And as you so rightfully says. Lack of trust. I'm away to read part two. Very unique writing style of yours. I like it. All the best. Ulla

Hi, Ulla
I'm pleased you stopped by. It's a big topic and I decided to explore it for myself just as much as for anyone else. I'm thrilled you like the style, this is my normal style, so YAY! Thanks a million. mike

Hi Mikey,
I found this a fascinating read. Interpretation and perception are intriguing themes. Add in experience and bias and it can be a very rocky road, or a very insightful experience.
This piece is very well written. the writing is both warm and engaging. Of course, it is also drizzled with that level od underlying humour too.
I will stop short of relating my views or experiences to this piece because, after all ... it is about you!
good stuff.

Cool. I am pleased you liked the style. It's what comes easy to me and that always makes me feel like it doesn't amount to anything, like playing the piano. mikey

WITHOUT TRUST THERE IS NO FOUNDATION. TRUST IS THENUMBER ONE THORN IN A PERSON RELATIONSHIP WITH ANYONE WORTH KNOWING OR LOVING.A MAN IS ONLY AS GOOD AS HIS WORD MY GRANDPA USED TO SAY. AS FOR A MAN LOOKING AT ANOTHER WOMAN IT IS THE SAME AS A WOMAN SAYING A MAN IS SEXY WHILE WITH HER HUSBAND IT IS A TWO WAY STREET. FEELINGS ARE FRAGILE AND INSERCURITIES TAKE OVER.

Interesting study, that. This seems to be a theme that comes up in most your essays. Rather, most of your essays are loosely autobiographical, tethered to the theme-o'-day, this one being your experiences on the receiving or giving end of insecurity. I like your approach. I couldn't find any nits. I didn't even bother to count "that's". LOL, good work, Mikey.

I'm good with "thats" now. I don't even use them were they belong. Ha! I've noticed as well I seem to insert myself into these essays. Is it really a good thing. I'm afraid it's because I can't write a normal essay and I'm falling back on something easier for me to do. If it's effective though, than I suppose it's okay. Thanks so much. mike

Interesting prose piece that I was SO enthralled in, admittedly, that I'm not sure I even proofread the damn thing. dammit... But I would have noticed, right? if there were problems? After all, i have the eye of an editor... yeah, sitting right beside my laptop... i snatched it from her eye just the other day. ;) heard her screaming when I did... yeah. lol
At any rate, I didn't see anything to change and now I just want to read the next one because I know there is another one, so get out of my way and let me do it, ok? It's good stuff... ;)
well done, I really enjoyed it. ;)

Hi Mikey,
How can you do that? leave me needing to read more and all the time you know what is coming and I don't. Not sure if what I have just written is jealousy or envy that you know something that I don't.
Where do we draw the line between the two. Does it become jealousy when the object of your jealousy can be life changing/threatening? Just a thought.
A great read, captivating. Next part please.

Your questions open up some pathways for a lot of thought and maybe MORE writing too. I like that!! Maybe you're inspired and want to do likewise. That's a good thing. I get that reading some of the work here. I think envy would make someone want to tear it down like sour grapes. Okay, more on the way. Thanks for your always interesting thoughts. mikey

Jealousy and Me-Part 1 is a good beginning for a discussion of jealousy. It is certainly one of several things that many people struggle with on a daily basis. It's very tough to make definitive statements concerning what jealousy is, because it manifests itself in a variety of ways. You have begun to take us down a narrow pathway and you are allowing difference of opinion to filter into your perspective. Thanks for sharing. May God bless you!

I'm pleased with your take on this. I did add my personal experiences as I saw it was such a subjective topic. I thought it would make it a more credible piece with some reality added. Like you say, it's more of a discussion really. Thanks for the great insights and comments. mike
